I keep a notepad in my jacket pocket and jot down any and all requests I receive that day.

When I next pray, I pray for the 'one time' only requests and mark them off. The others I move on to a 'permanent or continuing prayer request list, which is now very long.' I pray for as many as I can daily, moving through the list. My children and I pray each night together, for their concerns first, and then we move to the list and pray for several. This way they learn there are needs beyond their own and they feel they are (and they are) helping daddy with his concerns. I usually email or write a note to those who are on my long list to see if anything has changed, if they need more, etc. If they answer their prayer has been answered, I remove it from the list. I am very conscious of my need to be diligent in this area. Comforting others is a large part of my Christian life.Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01926385091468622891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8436098298604946160.post-37616281013789611812012-01-12T12:03:01.482-05:002012-01-12T12:03:01.482-05:00If in a church service or Bible study, I write on...If in a church service or Bible study, I write on whatever is handy (blank book, margin of my bulletin or other paper) but eventually write it into my daily journal, where I record Bible readings, count my blessings, note whatever jumped out at me in devotional or other reading, list prayer requests, and generally sort out my life's concerns. I love the verse in the Message that reads: "every morning I lay out the pieces of my life on your altar and watch for fire to descend." Psalm 5:1 Amen!

--Jennifer in OhioAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
