{ICAD} Jan. 8-14, 2017

Today I wanted to share my next seven ICADs. And be sure to check tomorrow's post when I share how I make some of the flowers you see on my creations. It's super simple! It will be in the art section of the first Glory {Art} Challenge I post tomorrow.

Also I have been asked how I create the text on the cards. There are several things I used on today's cards:
  • Vintage Smith-Corona typewriter
  • Stamps (scripture stamps and alpha stamps)
  • Stickers
I usually stamp or type on book paper or ledger paper. I used a paper bag for the Jan. 10th card. I hope that gives you some ideas. Mix it up and raid your stash. Be sure to ask questions in the comment section. I always answer there.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy these! Blessings,

Hi - I just love your faith inspired index cards! I was wondering how you display them or store them? Do you have them in a system for easy reference?

Incredible colours and art work.

Where are you getting your "prompts" for the icad 2017??
Do you have any video tutorials?
What kind of acrylics do you like the best?

I think I'm going to really enjoy your Glory Art challenge! I like the connection between bible study, life applications, and art!
I am really new to this, trying to tap into my imagination, but I'd like some guidance. If you could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.
I'm realizing you have to do most of this in layers. I purchased a gelli plate and like that initial layer, but am trying to figure out how to get the colorful/artsy affect!

Thank you,
Elizabeth

Thank you all for your sweet comments. Jewel, I have shared the box I keep them in in an older post. I will try to find it, and I think I am going to repost it anyway because the box looks SO much prettier with more cards now. Be watching for an update. :)

Elizabeth, there are not any 2017 prompts for ICADs yet. I actually just like creating on my own without a prompt. It's more freeing for me. I call them ICADs because they still are an Index Card a Day even though it's not from the official site with prompts. Hope that makes sense. Also, doing a video tutorial would be too hard because I truly only work on these at 10 minutes at a time, and I work on 3-6 cards at a time. I am pretty scatterbrained with it. LOL! I am going to share a written tutorial of sorts soon though to give people ideas on what to do. Yes, I do work in layers. I just keep adding goodies until I feel like it's done. And I love lots of different acrylics. I use anything from the cheap $1 bottles to the expensive Golden Acrylics. What I use on my creations will be linked at the bottom of posts. But to sum it up, I love Golden Fluid Acrylic, Liquitex Heavy Body Acrylic, Martha Stewart acrylics, Apple Barrel acrylics, Dina Wakley acrylics, Dylusions acrylics, Distress Paints, etc. I have a lot of paint and use it all.

Let me know if you have more questions, and I will put a post together shortly that might be of help. Blessings, and glad to have each of you joining me!
