Tuesday's {Tip} Got Lace?

I have had a terrible time finding lace. I know Ellen Hutson has some gorgeous lace but everything I wanted was out of stock. I finally found some wonderful lace at a great price on eBay. FancyLinda has a great store on eBay. She combined shipping for me, and my total shipping was only $1.90!! The lace arrived in a nice box, it was all wrapped in tissue paper, and the lace was wrapped nicely on cardboard secured with beautiful pins. Just look at this yumminess:
I was quite impressed. This lace is so beautiful in person. If I need lace again, I will definitely purchase from this eBay store again! So, if you are like me and you need lace, I thought this might be a supplier you want to check out! You can see her store here.

And TWO lucky blog readers will get to enjoy some of this lace along with a ribbon color of their choice! Just leave a comment here by tomorrow night (Wednesday, June 30th at 11:59 p.m. CST) telling me how you use lace on your creations. I will draw TWO winners and announce on Thursday! So, enjoy, submit those comments, and have a blessed Tuesday!

  1. Dear Patter,

Thank you so much for the tips - I will definitely be checking your sources out as I am in need of some lace as well!

In the meantime thank you for the chance to win some beautiful lace from you - I hope I get lucky because my stock needs replenishing!

I have been using a lot of lace on my projects lately - I incorporate it into just about everything I can (it's just so pretty!)

If you stop by Create With Joy, you can see lace incorporated into my Blogorette Sorroity Sisters project and I have another lace project posting shortly!

  6. Gorgeous lace! I can see it peeking out from under the main image panel. Or in several layered rows up from the bottom of the card. I can also see a flower made from it as a focal point.

My mother passed away just before christmas, and I am gathering things for her album - lots of vintage papers, laces etc. I haven't been able to find the lace I wanted, and now know where to get it!

  20. Oh Patter, you ALWAYS have the GREATEST tips, and this one is no exception! Lace...one of my favorite playthings! I love vintage, and lace makes it so easy to capture that "estate" look! Whether it be on a layout or a card, you can always achieve a charming effect. I also love to use lace as a mask to design my own papers. Lace just offers endless inspiration! 22. Thanks for the tip on finding some pretty lace. I have had a few pieces received in craft swaps; so, I have just mainly used ribbons. However, I love the lace for trims on cards, and also little gifties to go in hand made/trimmed bags. I really love the ones you have shown; they look like the tea stained pieces.

  28. Hi Patter~

Thank you for sharing this great store with me/us! I am very thankful for the opportunity to win some lace and ribbon!

I love lace! I use it on my vintage cards. I love to use it around an oval or circle. I also use it as an edge as opposed to using a strip of paper. I love to sew little faux (of course!) pearls into it...or in some types, I thread very thin ribbon through the openings. Other times, I add pins or parts of jewelry I have had onto the heavier lace.

I saw one example in a magazine that I haven't used just yet...they took sheer lace, not the beautiful crocheted lace, and covered most of the front of the card. They "tore" a hole in the lace in the shape of an oval, and put their stamped image in the center...very Vintage!

Thanks again for the opportunity! You are so wonderful as usual!

  39. Thanks for the info- that lace looks gorgeous!! I haven't used a lot of lace because I haven't found ANY lace that looks like yours does! However, I love using ribbon on my layouts & cards as a border or peeking out from underneath an embellishment to give some extra dimension. I bet lace would be gorgeous used in the same fashion.

Thanks for the chance to win! Have a great week!
