Scripture Challenge {Week 1}

After many weeks of waiting, our Scripture Challenge finally begins. Can you believe it? I am excited as I know all of you are! God laid it on my heart to do this challenge but I never imagined the numbers of participants He would call. I am humbled at what He has done thus far. He is amazing! I only pray that each week He will enable me to guide each of you through the challenge. I am sure He will use all of us to learn from each other too. He knows each of our needs, He knows where He wants us all to grow, and He knows where He wants to lead each of us. During our year this year, I will not be teaching by any means. I will be guiding as God enables me and waiting to see how He leads each of you each week. Rely on Him as you do this challenge. Ask Him to show you what He wants you to see as you read and discover.

God clearly told me that He wants us to look at Faith this week. What is faith? Why do you believe what you believe? Faith as defined by Webster’s is “1. unquestioning belief that does not require proof or evidence. 2. Unquestioning belief in God.” If you want to read the Faith Hall of Fame, read Hebrews 11. These men and women completely trusted God without needing proof of anything. Jesus is the object of my faith. Who or what is the object of your faith? Use the resources to help you.

Week One Challenge Word: Faith

I used the spectacular January kit from Create My Keepsake to complete my Faith card for this week. And the scripture God had me use was Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” And I also used Galations 2:20 “I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
Look through your Bible, look through devotionals, and see what God says about faith. Have fun creating your cards and pages. You have all week (or all year for that matter) to complete your cards and pages. Create as much as you are inspired to create. And be sure join in our discussion threads in this thread on the Create My Keepsake forum or in this thread on the Faith Sisters forum. Let us know when you finish creating too so we can take a peak! Have fun, and soak up everything He shows you this week! Blessings for a joyous and faith-filled week everyone!

God is so amazing. Our pastor spoke on faith this morning. This will be a great word to start with because without faith where would we be.

This is wonderful! Check out my gallery on SJ and look at what I called my album for my cards and what's on the front of my study notebook. God is great!

Great place to start with this challenge. As the others have said, "without faith where would we be?" Faith is the foundation of everything else. Can't wait to get started. Your card is beautiful too, BTW. :) Thanks Patter.

I agree with those who have posted thus far - this is a great place to start. Unfortunately, I know I won't be able to stay caught up for the next few weeks. I will have a few very busy weeks with work, but will definitely be checking in to see all the great work! Thanks Patter!

Wow. Our Associate Pastor spoke on Faith also today and he said that same sentence you did about "faith hall of fame." Gives me chills! Can't wait to do this!

Patter, you are a wonderful wonderful woman! Totally inspired! Around the middle of November I decided I wanted to dedicate 2008 to really taking in the scriptures and relating them to my life. What a fantastic challenge I found just a couple of weeks later!!!

What a wonderful place to start! Ooooh, I cant even think where to begin! I am excited to see all of the wonderful work I am sure we all will do this week, and all year for that matter!

Thanks again Patter!

I haven't started yet because my ATC just started today, but already I have a few ideas. I'm glad to hear we're not limited to one card!

So, um, where do I sign up?
