{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #3, Truth

Note: Please click here to see today's Glory Art {Tip}.

The Study
One of my daughters was encouraged by a few people to lie about something. We discussed it, and while I knew what she should do, I could not tell her that. While she was seeking my advice, she needed to seek God and what He wanted her to do. As a mama, I prayed hard asking the Holy Spirit to prompt her to make the right decision. This was going to be a life lesson for her, and she needed to be able to live with the consequences of her choice (good or bad).

The next morning she called me and told me that she knew she had to do what was right and that was to tell the truth. I cried with joy and praised God that she listened to Him. She knew she had to do what God was leading her to do. She knows God's word, and she needed to follow it. I am so thankful she did! The Holy Spirit leads us in truth, and we need to follow in obedience. God expects us to follow the Spirit's leading. That honors Him.

To be able to follow His leading, we need to know God and His word. God's word is truth. If we don't know His word, that leads to faulty thinking and wrong behavior. Do you know His word, and are you applying Biblical truth to your life daily and in everyday situations? That is key. If we are not applying His truth to our lives, then how will we grow and become more like Him as we discussed last study? Jesus always seizes teachable moments in our daily lives and in the lives of our children. Are you listening and watching for them? They are always there! Help your children and grandchildren watch for them too. Pray that they recognize God's daily leading in their lives. And are you being that example to them? You can even pray Psalm 25:5 each day.

Psalm 25:5 "Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are God my Savior, and my hope is in You all day long."

He will guide you in truth and teach you. Ask Him! And how about the people around you. Do they know you as a person of God? Do they know you can be trusted to tell the truth because you live for Him? Are you swayed by others advice or do you seek His word and what He would have you do? I love this quote by Billy Graham "Honesty means exactly what it says. We are honest and trustworthy in all our dealings. People can trust our word, because we refuse to lie or shade the truth." Can you say that is true of you?

1 Kings 17:24 "Then the woman said to Elijah, 'Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the Lord from your mouth is the truth.'"

Proverbs 14:5 "An honest witness does not deceive, but a false witness pours out lies."

Community Bible Study says this about God's word. "Truth is an ever-changing negotiable for many people in our culture today. But building your life on constantly changing 'truth' is like building your house on shifting sand. God's word, like God Himself, never changes. What He says was true yesterday, is true today, and will still be true a billion years from now."

Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."

Acts 5:4b "What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God."

Colossians 3:9 "Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices."

Apply His Word to your life to gain His perspective. Will you obediently follow God each day as He leads you in truth?

The Art
For my art today, I chose to create an art journaling page. I used Psalm 25:5 from above. I just love that He will guide me in truth. And be sure to see the step-by-step instructions on how I created this page in today's Glory Art {Tips} below this post or just click here.

Feel free to join us on the Facebook page where some people will be sharing their creations. We also have some discussions that will be going on there too about the study. If you don't use Facebook and want to share your creation here, do so below by using Inlinkz! To see all of the information regarding this challenge and the previous studies and art tips, please see this post here. And remember to follow Him each day as He leads you in truth!

Thank you for this. I have slowly been using some of your ideas and methods in making cards, and perhaps the most useful part is that I can stamp or paint (or splatter) and go away to let it dry, knowing it'll be waiting an hour or day or later. Also, the layers are wonderful. Happy Day! Jennifer in OH

You have created lovely bright artwork for a great word - Truth.
Thank you for your teaching . I enjoyed searching for what scripture and what quote I would use in my artwork.

I am so enjoying this challenge - thank you. By the way your site is taking an awfully long time to load at the moment, not having a problem elsewhere, only here. Just thought you should know.
