His Holy Name Challenge 2009!

Okay everyone, the details for 2009 are coming together! I want to thank all of you for your words and your suggestions for our 2009 study. I have prayed a lot about it, and I truly feel the Lord wants us to focus on Him and who He is. He gives us His precious Word as a love letter to us, and it is a self-revelation of Himself. He wants us to read it. I know many of you suggested book studies; however, I know many churches and communities hold books studies, and He wants me to focus on His Word and see what He teaches us this coming year about Him. So, I am very excited to announce that our 2009 study will be:

"His Holy Name" for 2009

It will be similar to my Scripture challenge we are doing this year but we will be focusing on the Names of God. Every other week, I will post a name of our precious Lord along with a small devotion. You then will find a key scripture or a promise associated with that name and create a scrapbook page, card, ATC, Rolodex card or whatever you feel like creating. I will be doing 6x6 scrapbook pages this coming year because I want to keep the album on my coffee table. Now, I know some of you have never done a scrapbook page or would prefer doing cards. I would encourage you to try it since I know most of you have done a 5x5 card before. That extra inch isn’t too hard. And these pages do not have to have pictures, just scripture and embellishments. You might find you like having a coffee table book too. I will provide my sample each time, and we may have a special guest helping me with samples too. That will be announced later.

Through this challenge, we will understand Him more fully, build our faith, and come away with beautiful scrapbook pages, ATCs, cards, etc. I hope you will join me in this challenge. I would love to have you.

You may be wondering why I am not having a weekly challenge. I found doing it weekly was a lot of work for many people. People got behind this year then they felt like they couldn't catch up. I don't want people to feel that way. If you only get 10 pages/cards done, then that is wonderful!!!!! I thought having it every other week might help everyone stay on track better this coming year and not feel rushed.

I will also be re-running this year's Scripture Challenge so for those of you want to start that in 2009, you will be able to do that! Of course, you can do both challenges. That would really be a blessing!

Please feel free to post comments or ask questions either here on my blog or here in this thread on Splitcoaststampers. I will update both places with more details as I have them. You may want to start thinking about what you want to use so that you can get an album or ATC holder ordered, dig up that old Rolodex, etc., and be ready for the beginning of the year. Thank you everyone for the chance to grow in our love for the Lord together. I am excited, and I hope you are too! Blessings,

Awesome!!! I haven't gotten all my pages done for the Scripture Challenge this year, though I have gotten to write in my journal. I can just continue next year and work on pages from my journal. And I love the names of God. I have been thinking of how to do some Artwork with a Christian theme. This might work perfectly for this. Looking forward to 2009. Thank you

Wow! This sounds really good. I can't wait to start it! Now I just have to decide if I can handle both challenge - found you too late in the year to start this year. I want to do the Word Challenge, but don't want to overwhelm myself either.

Thank you so much for bringing this talent of love of scrapbooking into a Bible Study!

Patter, I really like how you are being lead for next year's challenges. I have thoroughly enjoyed each week's word this year but had thought if you did it weekly next year I would not participate but now with it being as you have stated I should be able to keep up with it and a great topic. Before I even read your message completely it was going through my mind to do 6 x6 pages as I have a couple of little empty albums that size. But I plan on doing digi for these as I am really hooked on digi now for my scrapbooking.
Thanks for all the guidance and inspiration you have given us this year. God Bless

Hello, I just read your post on 2Ps about organizing and seen your 2009 challenge and I would love to participate.
So, every two weeks means we will need something with at least 25 pages, right or 52 pages if we do double pages, if we are doing an album?
I taught a study a few years ago about the names of God and I must say it brought greater depth and humility to my walk. And I would love to acknowledge this in a beautiful artful way.
Thank you,
Kim

This is the first study with you and I am looking forward to it. I hope I understand how this works. You will give us a word or name and we will find a verse and scrap something for it, question???? We will them post them on your blog? Would love your help, Thanks.
