Christmas Joy & Coming Soon!

First, I wanted to tell you about a few things that will be coming in 2008. As I have continued to clean out magazines (an ongoing but rewarding task), I have come across so many awesome ideas and tips. So beginning January 1st, I will be posting Tuesday's {Tip}. I hope you will enjoy it and that it will be a nice addition to Organizational {Friday}. So be looking for that on January 1st.

Next I know I don't need to remind most of you that on January 7th we will begin our Scripture Challenge! I am so excited. And I hope a few certain people that I know of are continuing to work on other projects so they don't focus on that calendar. Ha!!! You know who you are. Where's that smilie when I need it? Anyway, I wanted to tell everyone that many people have asked if it is too late to sign up for the Scripture Challenge. It certainly is not. I would love people to join us anytime during 2008!!!!! So, keep coming! Keep sending me those e-mails with your name and gallery link so I can add you to the participant list. If you need a gallery, you can create one at Create My Keepsake or Faith Sisters or both!!!! We will also have separate discussion forums on both sites too! We would love to have you.

And lastly, I wanted to wish each of you a joyous and blessed Christmas. I pray this time is filled with joy and that you create many special memories during this Christmas season. Merry Christmas everyone!

Luke 2:10-11 NIV "But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord."

2007 Year Review Layout

As part of my creative team work at Faith Sisters, I did a layout reviewing this entire year. I have never done a layout like this before, and I must say it was fun to look back at what happened. I write an annual Christmas letter but when I did this layout, I realized some things I forgot to put in the letter. Oh well. And I used the new Quickutz calendar dies. They worked perfectly for this layout. Anyway, I think I am going to do a layout like this every year. It was so fun, and is a great overview of the year! If you haven't done a layout like this before, you really should try it! Thanks for stopping by and looking!

What a Week!

My week has been filled with scrappy excitement this week. First Cards wants to publish a card that I just created this past weekend using the awesome December kit from Inspire Me Card Kits! It will be in the May 2008 issue. Be sure to watch for it. Then I have been asked to be on the design team at Create My Keepsake as their Faith Coordinator. The 2008 Scripture Challenge will be hosted there now also, and I will be using their awesome kits for my challenge cards each week. I am more than excited! God kept telling me that He was going to do awesome things with this challenge, and each day it just gets better and better! And though I will be stepping down from my Creative Team position at Faith Sisters, I will still be posting the challenges there each week and visiting with my "faith sisters." Thank you Cards and CMK for these opportunities! And thank you to all of my awesome blog readers!

Faith Sisters Challenge Layouts

Here are a couple of layouts I have done for my DT work at Faith Sisters. These are part of the challenges we have each and every week! If you want to scrap more about your faith, you will want to check out our challenges each week, and a weekly winner is drawn too! Maybe our next winner will be you!

The first challenge was to scrap something I am thankful for. My layout is about how thankful I am to be chosen as mom to my precious identical triplet girls. My journaling says "I am thankful for your laughs, your precious smiles, and your individual personalities. But most of all, I am thankful that I have been chosen to be your mom!" This particular layout won Layout of the Day today at Create My Keepsake. I am SO excited.

This second challenge was to scrap about the Bible. My journaling on this layout shares some things I have learned about the Bible over the years. My journaling says "Self-communication of God. Collection of 66 books. Holy Bible. God's revelation of Himself to us! God's love letter to us. Word of God. Communication of the sovereign grace of one God." I just love that it is God's love letter to us. How awesome! Be sure to grab that love letter and read a bit today. And thanks for stopping by to look!

2008 Scripture Challenge Participant Links

In preparation for our Scripture Challenge beginning January 7th, I would like to set up links to each person's gallery that will be particpating in the Scripture Challenge. That way, you can find everyone's gallery easily to look at their cards and to share with each other. My thought is that I will include your first name with last initial. People will click on your name, and it will take them to your gallery of cards. This will take me a bit of time to set up. I would like to start working on it now if I can. What I need from each participant is the following:

  • Your first name with last initial
  • Link to the gallery you will use for posting your challenge cards/pages
Please e-mail your information to me at Patter. If you do not currently have a gallery or would like to use a different gallery, we have set up a 2008 Scripture Challenge category in our gallery on Faith Sisters. We would love for you to register there to share your cards if you would like. You can also post them on your blog. Just send me your blog link, and we will use that. I think this will make it easier for everyone to share and look around.

I hope you all are as excited as I am about the challenge. It has been fun watching God put our awesome group together. We have many people from many different boards participating. And if you haven't joined us yet, it is never too late. We invite everyone to join at any time. Have a blessed day everyone!

{Faith Sister} Challenges

This fun challenge at Faith Sisters was to scrap "A Day in the Life of . . ." This was quite fun for me since I had never really done a page like this before. But because I didn't have room on my 9x9 page to fit everything I do in a day, I tried to include pieces of my days/weeks. And of course each day is different for me but I tried to give a nice overview. And I had fun making my different "thickers" out of my Quickutz fonts. I used Quickutz Metro (both classic and skinni mini) on this layout. And of course I had to use my favorite color too (baby pink). This was a fun challenge for sure!

One of our first challenges as a new Creative Team at Faith Sisters was to scrap our testimony. I don't have a defining moment when I accepted Christ so I shared some different things on this layout. The journaling says: "I accepted Christ in late 1997 after being invited to Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). I don’t have a defining moment but I remember totally relying on Him when we had to sell our house and move to Texas. Only the Lord can bring a buyer in 2 hours! God has used BSF to bring me to Him, to grow me, to mold me, and to teach me to serve Him!" Scripture verse: "1 Peter 1:8 NIV—Though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy.”

I hope this layout will be an inspiration to those of you that may not have a defining moment in your walk. Thanks for stopping by, and have a joyous day!

My {DT} News!

I found a site a couple of weeks ago called Faith Sisters. You may remember my post about it. Well, they were having a design team call. I really have not had an interest in being on another design team because I love the ones I am currently on. I am quite blessed. However, I truly felt it would be awesome to design for a site that focuses on my faith. So, I decided to try out. Well, I couldn't believe my eyes when I read that I had been selected as one of their Creative Team Members! I am so excited. We have weekly challenges that help you scrap about your faith and that will help you to create your faith book. I haven't always scrapped a lot about my faith in the past. I want to! I want to leave that legacy for my precious girls. We also have a lot of resources available on the site which is really cool! I find myself using them a lot already for my pages. Well, thanks for letting me share. And for those of you interested, we would love to see you join us at: http://faith-sisters.blogspot.com/ Have a blessed day everyone!

Dealing the Weight Loss Hand {Week 6}

Wow, y’all were busy this week! I have seen some spectacular cards. You all created so many this week, that I can’t show them all. So, I am going to post the links here so everyone can see all of the hard work you have done, and so they can be encouraged also! And of course I know you would love some great comments too!

Here are Stephanie’s cards:

Okay, so a lot of us have a love/hate relationship with exercise. I have found that doing something you love makes all of the difference in the world when it comes to exercise. I used to be a certified aerobics instructor. I even taught while I was pregnant before finding out there were three babies in there. Oh goodness! Anyway, when I taught, I had a class depending me. I got a workout, and I had fun. But doing it on my own can be another story. Have you found what exercise you love to do? Are you exercising? Do you have a friend that can join you? A really fun type of exercise I learned about this week on Faith Sisters is Photo Walking! You can learn about this cool exercise here in this thread: http://faithsisters.com/forum/index.php?topic=53.0 So this week, let’s look at exercising. If you aren’t already exercising, what can you find that might be fun? And thank you Mel for the prompt this week!

The 12th Card Prompt: Describe your favorite exercise or activity! If you don't have one, what would you like to start doing? Mix it up! Have fun!

Here is what I did with the challenge this week:
I hope that you are able to find something you enjoy! Exercise, have fun, and see you next week!
