Get that Sewing Machine Out!

Oh my goodness, how I love to sew. I have sewn for about 30 years. Now I don't have time to do much of anything anymore but I have always loved the look of sewing on layouts, cards, and tags. Well, my wonderful machine is in my beautiful sewing cabinet that my mother gave me but I never get it out to use it: until this week! Now I am totally addicted. I had so much fun making these three cards and sewing on them. The first card I did for design team work for both Triple the Sketch and Inspire Me Card Kits. The second card was also for Inspire Me Card Kits, and the last one I made just for fun using some new papers I got from Create My Keepsake. I mostly used machine sewing; however, on the second card, I did do some hand sewing on the butterfly. So fun! So, if you haven't gotten your sewing machine out lately, I highly recommend it! Design Team Call at IMCK & The April Kit!

Altered Notebook for IMCK

I did a quick altered notebook tonight for my DT work for Inspire Me Card Kits. I used the March kit which included some yummie Jenni Bowlin and Pink Paislee goodies! Fun, fun! I thought it would be a great notebook to use on my trip this weekend to the Bible Study Fellowship Leader's Retreat! TFL!

Cards for Inspire Me Card Kits

Here are a couple of cards I have done this week with my awesome kit from Inspire Me Card Kits. I have always wanted to do a triplet baby card, so I thought this monkey stamp that I found at Archiver's to be perfect for this card. And as you can see, I have been a sewing queen lately on my cards. I love to cross stitch, so it is only natural for me to love sewing on my work. Layouts using the IMCK Kit!

I don't know how many of you were able to snatch up the January kit from Inspire Me Card Kits but it was definitely an awesome kit! The February kit looks amazing too. Anyway, with the January kit, I was able to complete four cards, two layouts, and I still have TONS of product left! Dannie definitely packs her kits full! Anyway, the cards I posted here the other day. Now for my layouts. The first layout I used lots of purple. We "labeled" our identical triplets when they were younger so we could tell them apart. One dd's color was purple so this kit worked perfectly for her page!
This second layout is of my mom and her identical twin sister. The papers went so well with what they were wearing that day. And yes, they still LOVE to dress alike! They are too cute! Cards, Cards, and More Cards

I have been having so much fun with cards lately! I think I am going to definitely pass my goal quickly this year! The first three cards were design team work for Inspire Me Card Kits. I used the wonderful January kit, had fun working with owls and the color purple (which I rarely use).

The last two cards were based on sketches from Card Positioning Systems. It is really a great site, and you should sign up for their e-mail updates. You will never miss a new sketch that way! And on the teal "love" card with the black Doodlebug flower, I even used patterned paper and ribbon that is over a year old! Now, I really need to dig into my stash more often! I know I have more fun papers from long ago that are waiting to be used! Well, thanks for looking, and have a joyous week ahead!

What a Week!

My week has been filled with scrappy excitement this week. First Cards wants to publish a card that I just created this past weekend using the awesome December kit from Inspire Me Card Kits! It will be in the May 2008 issue. Be sure to watch for it. Then I have been asked to be on the design team at Create My Keepsake as their Faith Coordinator. The 2008 Scripture Challenge will be hosted there now also, and I will be using their awesome kits for my challenge cards each week. I am more than excited! God kept telling me that He was going to do awesome things with this challenge, and each day it just gets better and better! And though I will be stepping down from my Creative Team position at Faith Sisters, I will still be posting the challenges there each week and visiting with my "faith sisters." Thank you Cards and CMK for these opportunities! And thank you to all of my awesome blog readers!

Quick Cards & Other Stuff

I have been playing with the Inspire Me Card Kits November kit today! Oh such fun papers and embellies! I love the American Crafts Holidayhouse felt too. So fun. Here are a couple of cards I made with this kit:I still have a lot of product left to make several more layouts and cards. I think I will continue to play today. And if you didn't get your hands on this awesome kit, then you better be ready for the December kit. Dannie is planning on having Heidi Grace Frost, MME Frost, and Fancy Pants Holly Jolly. She will have an underlying theme of "Winter." She will also include the Maya Road snowflake chipboard, a clear mini-album, Doodlebug buttons, sugar coated glitter, Daisy D's white rhinestones, and other goodies. It is going to be another spectacular kit.

And just a note about Organizational Friday. I was visiting with my aunt that I haven't seen in two years, so I wasn't able to post. I will resume that fun post this coming Friday. Now to decide on what I will talk about. Ha!
