Art {Journaling} Hope Part 1

Last week I mentioned that I have two art journal pages to share with you. Today I wanted to share the first page. I used my Gelli plate for this page. I did not use a whole lot of paint because I wanted a lot of white on the page. And of course, I love adding sewing to my pages so one of the easiest ways is to glue a stitched element. In this case, I used a 7Gypsies mini ephemera receipt. I actually cut the receipt into two pieces, stitched on both pieces, and then added them to my page. I used the larger piece to note the scripture that I reference on this page:

1 Corinthians 13:13 "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

Size: Small Dylusions Journal
Stamps: Neat and Tangled Bible Journaling, 7Gypsies Bold Chevron, Ali Edwards Craft
Stamp Ink: Archival Ink jet black
Paints: Dylusions fresh lime and black marble; Folk Art wicker white and bright pink; Americana Indian turquoise, bright yellow, and petal pink; Jenni Bowlin chicken feed
Tools: Rae Missigman stencil M080 and M072, Gelli plate, sewing machine
Embellishments: 7Gypsies receipts mini ephemera, correction pen, Illustrated Faith washi tape, Uni Posca paint pen

I hope you enjoyed today's page. Have fun creating, and I will share the second page that matches this one in a few days. Blessings,

Glory {Art 2016} Scripture Challenge #3, The Details

The Study
God is in the details! I saw this so very clearly when my daughter had both of her heart surgeries last month and last week. Here are a few examples:

First, the Lord knows I have trouble remembering a lot of different things when I am stressed. So, here are the room numbers my daughter had at the hospital, and we had at the hotel:

Hospital: 3303, 3313
Hotel: 331

We also had room 3303 again last week when she had her second surgery. How cool is that? I didn't need to write those numbers down. He helped me, and He was in the details!

Then, VP Joe Biden was at the hospital the day my daughter was having her first heart surgery. Roads were blocked off, sharp shooters were on the roof, a security helicopter was overhead, part of the parking garage was closed off, etc. Parking at that hospital is already horrific without a visit from the Vice President. My two other girls were traveling from their university to the hospital that day. Hubby and I were wondering how they would find parking or how they would even get to the hospital because roads were blocked off. Well, God provided a shuttle from the hotel that we originally knew nothing about. Our daughters were able to drive easily to the hotel, park their car, and take the hotel shuttle to the hospital which dropped them off right at the front doors. They found us easily on a massive campus. That could not have happened like it did if God were not in the details but He is! I didn't need to worry. God has it all perfectly planned. Ann Voskamp’s One Thousand Gifts says this:

God has been in every moment of stress with us. It gave me such peace knowing He was right with me and in all of the details. He is in the daily details of your life too. He cares about you and loves you. I also need to repeat the definition that I shared in last month's study. Did I miss the part of that definition that He is in the details? Last month we looked at the word 'joy' in this definition.

"Joy is the settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the quiet
confidence that ultimately everything is going to be alright, and the determined
choice to praise God in every situation.Kay Warren

Now read the definition again and look for the word 'details'. Isn't it perfect how both 'joy' and 'details' piggie back each other? We can have joy because He IS in the details. He was whispering that to me prior to my daughter's surgery and as I wrote last month's studyHe would be in the details. And boy did I see it in so many ways! And I love this quote:

"God is always doing 10,000 things in your life, and you may be aware
of three of them.John Piper

And Rick Warren said:

"Scripture says that God is interested in every little detail of your life. That's so incredible
I don't think it even sinks in. God is a caring God. He is concerned about every
little detail in your life."

Psalm 86:15 "But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness."

Matthew 6:31-33 "So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

1 Peter 5:7 "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."

Will you watch for Him in the details each day? He knows what we need, and He hears our prayers. Praise Him for it all! Praise Him for being in the day-to-day details of our lives!

The Art
For today's study, I decided to create a Journaling Bible page. The advantage of having an inventory of all of my word stamps makes stamping a quote easy. To see a detailed post on my inventory, click here. To stamp the quote, I used six different stamp sets. The only word I was missing was 'them' so I used the word 'the' and inked up the letter 'm' from another word in the set and stamped it to create the word 'them'. Worked perfectly. Think out of the box like that to create words you may need.

The quote I stamped was the one by John Piper above. I put it in the margin of Matthew 6:31-33. I just thought it was perfect for that scripture. I did handwrite some of the words because I think it's important to have my handwriting in my Bible. I also used some painted deli paper I had on hand from an art journaling page to create the scallops at the top and on the side of the page.

Papers: misc. painted deli paper
Stamps: Technique Tuesday Say It Remember, Favorite Things, and Everyday Words, Neat and Tangled Christmas Journaling and Bible Journaling Companions, Tim Holtz Tall Text, Art to the 5th Art Fusion
Stamp Ink: Archival Ink jet black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink picked raspberry
Paints: Ranger Multi Matte Medium, Dylusions bubblegum pink and vibrant turquoise
Tools: Pigma Micron pens 0.3 and 0.5, scissors
Embellishments: Illustrated Faith amen washi tape and Point It stickers

Feel free to join us on the Facebook page where some people will be sharing their creations. We also have some discussions that will be going on there too about the study. If you don't use Facebook and want to share your creation here, do so below by using Inlinkz! To see all of the information regarding this challenge and the previous studies, please see this post here. Enjoy watching for Him in the details of your daily life!

Art {Journaling} Romans 1:16

Prior to being back in the hospital with my daughter, I completed three Art {Journaling} pages that I had not shared with you yet. I will share one with you today, and the other two next week since they go together. For today's page, I used this color scheme as my inspiration:

I played around with the background colors using an 8x10 Gelli Plate. I really love using my Gelli Plate because creating a page is so very quick, and each background is so unique. I also use a BSF principle from our Romans study years ago on this page.

Size: Small Dylusions Journal
Paper: Canvas Home Basics waxed tissue, misc. book paper
Stamps: 7Gypsies Distressed Words, Tim Holtz Tall Text, Art to the 5th Art Fusion, Neat and Tangled Christmas Journaling, Schoolbook Alphabet lowercase
Stamp Ink: Archival Ink jet black
Paints: Tattered Angels Plain Jane Baseboard iris mist, Tim Holtz Distress Paint cracked pistachio, Americana vivid violet, Dylusions fresh lime, Dina Wakley heavy body acrylic tangerine, Folk Art wicker white
Tools: Gelli Plate 8x10, Stencil Girl Missigman M071 stencil
Embellishments: Making Memories tiny alpha stickers, Illustrated Faith books of the Bible stickers, correction pen

And for those of you wondering, my daughter got out of the hospital on Wednesday but we were back in the ER last night. We are home, and praying we don't go back to the hospital for a long time to come. Thank you for your continued prayers, and thanks for stopping by!
