{Organization} Farmhouse Wire Tiered Stand

Run don't walk to a Pottery Barn near you if you are looking for a 3-tiered stand! This Farmhouse Wire Tiered Stand was $59.50 but now is $22.99. I grabbed it, and I must say I LOVE it!

Here are the dimensions as listed on the Pottery Barn site:

DIMENSIONS
Overall: 12" wide x 12" deep x 30.25" high
Small basket: 8.25" diameter, 4" high
Medium basket: 10.5" diameter, 5" high
Large basket: 12" diameter, 6" high
Space between baskets: 4.5"
Weight capacity: 3.25 pounds (per basket)
Weight: 4.75 pounds

It could be used for anything! I should have purchased more than one because one in the kitchen would have been adorable. Oh well. Anyway, while I loved my paint storage, I did want to go vertical because I could store so much more. So I moved my paints from my mini Clip-it Up to this. Here is the before and the after:

Because I moved my gesso and other mediums to the basket also, I have opened up storage elsewhere. I am SO excited about that. The sides also hold things such as my Tim Holtz stapler. I am sure I will find other goodies to hang on the side also.

I hope you enjoyed this. Sometimes going vertical can be the best thing for storage and organization! Have a great week! Blessings,

Organization {Friday} Tube Paints

Agh, tube paints. I love them as well as all of the other paints I have; however, they were not organized quite like I like them. So I searched for another Simply Renee Mini Clip-it Up. I had one and used it for my stencil organization which has worked amazing for me. If you missed that post, click here. So, I thought this same concept would work great for my tube paints.

I found someone that had a Mini Clip-it Up that they were not using so I purchased it from them. It arrived and that afternoon, my tube paints looked like this:

They are clipped up in color order, and this sits right on the edge of my art table. It is very easy to see the paints I want to use and makes it easy to put them away. If you are unable to find the discontinued Simply Renee Mini Clip-it Up, you can certainly make your own. There are lots of ideas on Pinterest. Also, feel free to look at my other paint organization post by looking at these posts:

Please note that the Mainstays organizer noted in the 2nd link is where I now have my Tim Holtz Distress Paints standing. Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your weekend!

Organization {Friday} Stencils

Finally my stencils are organized in a way that I think will stick for many years. In the past, I have had them hanging from my large Simply Renee Clip it Up along with other things. Then I moved them to a box that sat on my art table. I did not care for the box so I began looking at moving them back to a Clip it Up but this time to a Mini Clip it Up. Unfortunately, this product is no longer available but many of you have them stashed in your closets or you can still find them on eBay, etc.

To Start
So, this past week I began the task of reorganzing them all. I started by setting the stack on the steps to my studio. It made it easier to sit on the steps, spread out, and work. I dictated the name and manufacturer of every single stencil into a note on my phone. It was very quick to dictate them as I worked. Now I have a digital list of all of my stencils.

The Mini Clip it Up
First, the Mini Clip it Up is perfect for my stencils. It fits on my art table, they hang nicely, and it fits a wide variety of sizes. The stencils sizes I have on here are:

4.3" x 5.7"
4.125″ x 8.5″
6"x6"
6"x9"
8.5"x8.5"

They all fit on here so well, and they are easy to grab, use, wash, and put away. And yes, I usually wash my stencils. If they are still a bit wet after washing, they will dry nicely like this. I wash them because I have found that some paints, mists, etc., do react with other products and end up on my pages. It's not always the color I want, and I don't like the mess. So, washing it is for me. :) I have a few that I did not get washed so you will see a few dirty ones.

Hanging the Stencils
To hang the stencils, I used two different products. I used the Simply Renee clips, and I also used clear J hooks that I got from amazon.com. They look like this:

The reason I used two different items to hang the stencils is first because if I only used the Simply Renee clips, all of my stencils would not fit. The clips are awesome but they do take up a bit of room. I only used the clips on stencils in which the clear J hook would not work for instance, intricate doily stencils, etc. The clear J hooks don't take up any room at all, and you can fit more stencils on the Mini Clip it Up. Here you can see a J hook on a Tim Holtz stencil. This makes storage super flat, and if these clips get paint on them, no problem. They are plastic.

Identifying the Stencils
Some companies have their name along with the stencil name printed right on the stencil just like the Tim Holtz stencil above. Love that. Some, however, do not. In those instances, I used my permanent marker to write the name on the stencil itself. This helps when I create products lists for a blog post.

Storage Order
I put the stencils on the Clip it Up in alphabetical order by design. For instance:

Alpha/Number
Circles
Diamonds
Doilies
Hearts
Lattice
Squares
Words
Etc., etc., etc.

I chose not to put them in order by stencil name because I can never remember the name of a particular stencil, and I certainly don't always remember the manufacturer either. This works for me.

Well, I hope this has been helpful and that some of you may resurrect those old mini Clip it Up units. Have fun organizing, and let me know your thoughts or if you have questions in the comment section below. Have a blessed weekend!

Organizational {Friday} & Cuttlebug Pattern Info

Okay, today's post is not going to be anything new. You all have heard of this product before. However, it is a lesson I have learned, and I will pass it on to you

How many of you have said you refuse to buy a Clip-It Up? It's too expensive. It's too big. You don't need it. You can make your own. You know all of those things you might tell yourself. That is everything I told myself since the product came out a long time ago. Well, I caved everyone! I bought a Clip-It Up last week! I used my Archiver's 30% off coupon and saved $15. Oh my goodness, it was SO worth it! Why did I stay in denial for so long? I don't think making it myself would have achieved quite the same storage that I have here now. I love this thing. Here are a few pics.
I think I probably store a few different items than most people. First, you can see that I store my Floss-Away bags on here which contain my DMC floss. Now I am a cross stitcher, so I literally have a HUGE tub of DMC floss; however, for paper crafting, I find I only need a few basic colors. I keep the bags on a single ring then clip the ring to the unit. Those are the colors I keep hanging right at my fingertips now. So easy to find.
And those Bazzill templates and other crafting templates--what did I used to do with those? It was always hard to find them. Now they are hanging by a ring on my Clip-it Up too. And because my Scrap 'n Cube and my new, wonderful Stampin Things Elite Organizer hold so much, I don't have too much to put on my Clip-it Up yet. I did find putting the longer packages of bling, Bazzill Just the Edge, Pink Paislee alpha stickers, etc., work great on here though. Sometimes they just didn't fit in my drawers quite right because they were so long. Now they are hanging perfectly on my Clip-it Up!
So, for those of you that are in denial, maybe ask for a Clip-it Up for Christmas and see if you have the same reaction I did! I am one happy crafter! :)

Oh, and before I close today, some of you asked how I created my Cuttlebug cover. My mom had a toaster pattern that we modified just slightly to get it to fit my Cuttlebug. We redrew the pattern onto tissue paper, and then I came home, pulled out my favorite pink toille fabrics, and made this little beauty.
If you sew, just measure the dimensions of your Cuttlebug and look for a toaster pattern close in size. It truly is easy! Feel free to e-mail me if you have more specific questions. Have a joyous Friday everyone!
