Scripture Challenge {Week 4}

As I was trying to see what word God wanted me to use this week, I looked at a verse that I have had in my signature on Scrapjazz for a long time. The scripture is from Psalm 27:14 "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." The word “wait” popped out at me. How many times I have looked at that scripture? How many times have I glanced over it? How many times have I forgotten that I even had it in my signature? Then moments later, I opened my e-mail box to check my e-mail only to find a devotional from Zondervan titled “Wait.” Three days passed and I then saw this post on a site “Ah....waiting. Shhh don't say it too loudly or Patter will pick that for next week's word. Waiting is always sooooo hard for me.” So, I guess God was clearly speaking to me and confirming our word to me. I literally did all of the study for this week’s work three days before I saw that post!!! God is so good to confirm that this is what we are supposed to be doing this week! So, you guessed it! Our word for this week is:

Week 4 Challenge Word: Wait
Waiting could be a lot of things. Waiting to speak, waiting by not speaking at all if inappropriate, waiting to do something until you know clearly God's will for you, waiting to let others go before you, waiting for God’s perfect plan in a situation, we wait for the return of our precious Lord, etc. When I looked up “wait” on Bible Gateway, 135 scripture references came up. Who would have known there were that many scriptures concerning this word. The Psalms are filled with scriptures on waiting, and I sat in tears reading them all. God was telling me personally that I need to wait for the healing of my daughter who has been out of school all year with a head injury. I need to wait for his perfect timing. What is God telling you? Is there a situation where you just need to wait?

Be sure to follow the discussion threads on Create My Keepsake, Scrapjazz, and Faith Sisters. Have fun looking and researching! And have a joyous week!

Patter~ I just happened to stop in here tonight and 'bingo' there was the new word! This is great, I think it's one of the hardest things as humans for us to obey. But when we 'wait' on God's timing....life is just so much better! I pray your daughter is better soon.

What a great time to give me that word. I needed a reminder of my favorite scripture which talks about waiting on the Lord - that he has heard my prayers and that I need to wait for his timing and the blessings will come.

Thank you.

Ack! You HAD to pick this word didn't you!! LOL Guess the Lord knew I needed a reminder about it. I've been talking with two different people this week about their being in God's Waiting Room. It's a difficult place to be but there are so many precious lessons learned while there. Thanks, Patter, for your willingness to put so much effort, study, and time into this.

Okay, I keep thinking about joining in on this Scripture Challenge. I've written down each week's word. I haven't done anything creative in a while and I really need to. And then you go and pick "Wait." I'm struggling right now because we are moving to a new town and I don't see anything good about it. My friends keep telling me I need to "wait" because I just don't know what God has in store. Hmmm...maybe today I'll get started on this challenge.

Although I have not been playing along by scrapping these challenges, I still lurk and read along... this week's word is perfect for where I am in my life right now. I can cerainly use the reminder that God is faithful and a friend and even though the waiting is the hardest part... I have to have faith in Him that His timing is perfect and just!

I pray for your daughter's healing, Patter!

Patter I posted this on SJ, but I read this post just 10 minutes before I received word that my Mother had gone home to her Lord. This word is just what I need right now. Thank you.

I just found your blog and what a blessing it is. I hope it is okay to join the challenge. Waiting is something I struggle with doing. God starts whispering his plans and I take off running before He is done.

I really like your card. I finally thought of something for my word "wait" and it is on my blog. Sometimes I just need a few days to ponder it.

I needed to study this word. It's always been tough for me to wait because patience is one fruit of the spirit that I do not produce in abundance. I am doing much better now as a wife and mother than I ever did as a young girl. I hope to continue to enjoy the process of waiting on the LORD. Here's my scrapbook page:
