Organizational {Friday}

Several people have been asking over the last couple of weeks how to store their scraps. I thought today would be the perfect day to show you my scrap file. I purchased a 12x12 accordian file to store my scraps. It has a nice handle so it is easy to carry. I organize my scraps by color and a few by my favorite manufacturers. I then put them in alphabetical order and put a 12x12 page protector in each section. All of my scraps go in the 12x12 page protectors in the appropriate section. This helps keep the smaller scraps from falling through to other sections. It is also easy then to just pull one color out of the file to find what I need. I generally keep scraps 2x2 and larger since I use them for my Quickutz letters and shapes. This has really helped me keep the scraps under control, and now I can find them easily when I am looking for a certain color. I hope this helps. Feel free to share your ideas here too!! Happy Friday!

Great idea! I've seen people use the drawers, but I don't have much room and definitely not that many scraps!ha! So, this would be a great way for me to organize....and I already have one of those accordion folders! yeah! Thanks Patter!!

This is a great idea! Right now all of mine is in drawers but it takes up a ton of room! I may have to swap over to this method.

Great idea to keep the cs near the pp. My cs is in an 8.5 x 11 accordian file and my pp is in ziploc bags. The bags are then down in a page protector (the kind that expands). I like your system better because everything is in one place and the pieces that are still 12" don't get bent.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing? My accordian paper holder is overflowing, so I thought I'd keep the scraps there and move the others into the cropper hopper thingys. But I need somewhere to put the aforementioned thingys where they won't fall over ...

I love this level of organization but I can't keep it up! So I keep mine by color group in 2 gallon zipper bags. It's not so detailed but I can say I am actually USING it!
