Scripture Challenge {Week 8}

How many times do things happen and we have no idea what the outcome will be? How many of you have sent kids off to Kindergarten, Middle School, High School, or even college? How many of you have had to find a new job or are still in the midst of looking for one? Where do you turn for help? Well, thankfully we have an awesome God that we can put our trust in. We can trust Him completely with everything in our lives. He is the God of every tense—past, present, and future. He is the help of our past, the hope of our future, and the Great “I Am” of today! So this week’s word is:

Week 8 Challenge Word: Trust

Think of how Jochebed (Moses’ mother) had to completely trust God as she put Moses in the papyrus basket in the Nile. Read more about it in Exodus 2:1-10. Wow, do you or I trust Him that much? How about our children that want to go off to foreign countries to be missionaries? Do we trust Him that much to let them go to do His work? Do we have doubts? Of course we are scared. Of course we have doubts. It’s our human nature. Well thankfully, our great and awesome God is worthy of our complete trust! We need to let go, and let God! Turn to Him.
Trust Him as your ever-present guide for today and everyday. You can pray daily that He increase your trust in Him. Read His Word. We can trust it! The Bible is His revelation to us so we can know Him!

As I studied this week, I came across this wonderful devotional in my Bible. It was an amazing devotion, and I thought I would share it with you. I not only love this hymn but I now have a new understanding and love for ’Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus'. The devotion reads:

“In the late 1800’s, Mrs. Louisa M.R. Stead watched as her husband died while trying to save a drowning boy. This familiar hymn was written as a response to her struggle with the ‘why?’ questions she asked God during that difficult time.

‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word,
Just to rest upon His promise,
Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord.”

I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!

--Louisa M.R. Stead

What an amazing trust. Learn to trust Him. Take Him at His word. He was there for you yesterday, He is there for you today, and He will be there for you tomorrow.

As I created my card this week, I goofed. I used the new Pink Paislee lines from the Create My Keepsake March kit. I was SO excited to use the new lines that I forgot I wasn’t supposed to show them until after Feb. 28th. Well, Lisa, so graciously forgave me, and now y’all get a sneak peak at the awesome, upcoming March kit!
For my scriptures this week, I chose:
Psalm 28:7 “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trust in Him and I am helped.”
Psalm 52:8 “I trust in God’s unfailing love forever and ever.”

Have fun creating and studying. And remember to lean on Him; trust Him. He is there for you. Be sure to join our discussion threads on Create My Keepsake, Scrapjazz, The Scrapping Spot, or Faith Sisters. And be sure to post those links to your work! I can't wait to see what you do. Have a joyous week everyone!

Your card is beautiful for this week's challenge! I think this week's word is perfect for my week. I trusted God to put me in a new job (or stay at the one I've been at for a long time) and he blessed me with a new job today! I can't wait to start searching for scripture on Trust. Thank you!

Patter, would you do me a favor and just quickly send me an email with all the words we've done so far. I'm trying to do some catch up after CHA and being ill. I would appreciate it.

This is a great word. I am a couple a pages behind in the creation process, but up to date in the study and planning. Perhaps I will get a couple done and posted this week, because I really want to do the TRUST one. I am not letting myself work out of order so I can keep the process/growth going. This was a great word to research. Gave me the focus for this week that was perfect for me. Thanks Patter.
