Organizational {Friday} Scrap Paper Storage

Okay, the crazy organizer has redone her scrap paper file! Yes, I love my old system. Yes, it works great for me but I wanted something pretty and more sturdy. Aren't I pitiful? Anyway, the old storage file I used can be seen here along with how I actually organize my scraps. It truly works great, and I am still using the same filing system inside. I am just using a different storage box. I went to Office Depot and bought this great file box and some hanging file folders. Then I used the amazing kit from Inspire Me Card Kits to alter the file box. Here is how it turned out:
Here is how I altered the box:
1. Use scrap paper to trace around the plastic pieces that you will cover in patterned paper. Trim the paper and refit as needed until it is just perfect. Then trace the scrap paper onto your patterned paper and cut out.
2. Lay your paper, embellies, die cuts, etc., on the file to make sure it will fit properly and it looks like you want. Change anything you don't like. I ended up changing the upper-left and right-hand corners in my final version.
3. Use sandpaper to "scuff up" the plastic.
4. Use a Pioneer Embellishment Glue Stick to completely cover the back of your patterned paper. I also used the same glue stick on the plastic itself. This glue can be used for plastics.

5. Put your patterned paper on the box, and use your brayer to get a good bond between the paper and the plastic.

6. Put any flat embellishments (die cuts, stickers, rub-ons, etc.) on your patterned paper. Cover lightly with Modge Podge and let dry.

7. Add your lumpy embellishments and ribbons.

8. Now organize your scraps, and set this adorable box next to your scrappy desk for easy access! Enjoy!

And Here are My Hanging File Categories:
