Organizational {Friday}

Wow, can you believe I am going to post something today? Please forgive me everyone. May has been a difficult month for sure! Anyway, I tried to organize my new Unity Stamp sets yesterday. I want to see how I like it before I do this to all of my acrylic and other unmounted stamp sets. So, let's look at what I did.

First, I bought some CD cases (not the slims) from Office Depot. Then I took out the black plastic insert that holds the CD. Second, I put each stamp set into the cases. Some sets took up to three CD cases because there are so many amazing stamps!
Third, I created a cover for each case circling the stamp numbers that are in each case and labeling each case as Case No. 1, Case No. 2, etc.
Fourth, I created an index card of every set and laminated them. Every card is in alphabetical order by set name and lists the stamps that each CD case contains so I can easily find the stamps.
I then put each case in alphabetical order by set name also in my bins that I altered earlier this year from one of the girl's toy bins. I sure hope this is going to work. And I hope it gives you some ideas on how to organize your unmounted stamps. Have fun!

Great idea! I have my acrylics in CD cases and as my collection grows, I think your index idea would be helpful. Thanks for sharing! :)

that's a great idea!!!! I have mine in baseball card holders in a binder. Though I like your idea of the pull out ring with all the images, I should do that with mine, so I know what I really have and use what I DO have! ;)

I love the index card idea... I have all my clear acrylic stamps in CD cases in a draw and love it... Now I'll have to do the index card ring... Thanks for sharing..

Looks really easy to find now and great organization tip. I have mine in a binder on clear sheets but I like the CD idea, I might try it. TFS!

I really like the index on a ring idea. I have my clear stamps in baseball card sleeves in a binder but as my larger stamp collection grows may have to switch to cd cases.

Great job! Have you ever taken apart wood mounted stamps? I have so many I would love to know if it would work like unmounted stamps before I 'destroyed' them! lol

I love the way you store your stamps! I use CD cases also. I have one of those toy bin things too, but unfortunately my kids still use it! I can see that it'd be a great addition to my scrapbook room though. Maybe in a few more years : )

I love the index cards you made. Mine right now are in an index card binder. It worked fine when I only had a few stamps, but now it's not working well. Maybe I'll update it soon to something like what you have! Thanks for the inspiration.

Have you found that this is working well for you? My stamp collection has grown and my binder system is just not working. I am thinking about trying this but hadn't thought of the index idea...that would be very helpful!
