A Special Day! 20 Years!!

Today my husband and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary! It has been such a FUN morning thus far. Lisa, owner of Create My Keepsake, gave me the idea to leave 20 Post-it notes around the house that contain 20 reasons why I love him. I wrote all 20 of them yesterday, and hid them this morning while he was still sleeping. Man, it was hard to hide 20 Post-its. But it has been SO fun watching him find them and read them. I have really enjoyed watching his face. And some of the things I wrote are not things I always take the time to tell him. It has really started our amazing day off just right!

I am SO blessed by an amazing man, and so thankful to have spent the last 20 years with him! I can't wait for many more to come! Thanks for letting me share, and I will leave you with our dating photo from 1986. Don't laugh too hard. :) I also leave you with my wedding photo (I don't have a digi one of the two of us). I also leave you with a picture of my great grandmother on her wedding day. You are probably wondering why I am including her picture. Well, I wore her wedding dress on our wedding day. She wore it in 1908, and I wore it in 1989! So amazing, and Happy 20th Anniversary darling!

That is so sweet! Happy Anniversary. I love the idea about the post-its. Reminds me of the book "Love Dare" (which I haven't read yet!) it's from the movie "Fireproof"
May God's blessings surround your marriage like a shield!

Patter, congratulations!! In our day and age 20 years of marriage is a record breaker!!! I know how truly blessed you are that you have stuck out the hard moments...if more people would just be patient and not give up so quickly, they would see that "until death due us part" is the best deal. On another note, that photo of your Grandmother is awesome and that you wore her dress in your wedding. How magnificent!! Was she still alive at your wedding? Congratulations again. have a beautiful day!!! :) Tereza

Hi Patter, How Blessed you are, the two of you look great together, and to have been able to put him on a scavenger hunt is so exciting will have to do that in September, it will be our 30th. I love that you were able to wear your grandmothers dress, that would be so exciting and to have been able to preserve it that long is so amazing. Was she still and is still alive to see you in it. You were so Blessed to recieve her gown, that's amazing, and maybe one day one or all your daughters can wear it. I had one of those companies make a dool that looks like me and then had a wedding dress made out of the vail part since it was all French lace. But, to finish congratulations and have a wonderful and Blessed Day!

Happy Anniversary, Patter! May He continue to bless your marriage, as you work to keep it Godly.

I love your dress. How special it must have been to wear your great grandmother's dress. It would never have worked for me, my great-grandmother was about 4'10"...I am 5'7"! lol I know that was a Vintage style dress...do you ever enjoy making Vintage style cards or scrapbook pages? Love to see them!

I love to leave love note hunts for Dave. I don't save it for special days like anniversaries. I do them when he needs a boost, or I feel so over whelmingly in love with him. I usually leave the last one stuch on his steering wheel so he can take it into work with him! I love when he returns the favor~ Sometimes, we leave stickers about marriage on the mirror on our vanity, or write it with a shade of lipstick I don't use.

Our un-routine love notes help keep us both in the moment! I hope you will try it. (Oh, and 20 love notes is a lot!!!)

How inspiring, Patter!
