Tuesday's {Tip} Inking Corners & Tricky Places

Have you ever tried to ink the edges of a piece of shaped chipboard or some other piece? If you have, I am sure you found that trying to ink the small corners can be very hard and definitely messy! Even using the small cat eye inks or other tiny ink "spots" can be tricky and messy. Well, today I thought I would share how I ink those tricky places.

First, grab a Q-tip. I keep a supply of them on my craft table. I ink up one end of the Q-tip. I then use that to ink those tricky places. It works perfectly! I usually just have to use one end of the Q-tip, so I take my scissors, cut off the used end, and I save the opposite end to use another time. Here is a chipboard flower I inked this past weekend using my "inked" Q-tip. Definitely a neater look then trying to do it with my ink pad! I hope this tip has been helpful, and if you are wondering what the piece is I created this weekend, see Part 1 of my tutorial here. Part 2 will be posted on Wednesday. :) Have a blessed day!

Thanks Patter.....I keep Q-tips on my table for chalks, but never thought about using them for those tight corners.

Great tip- Q-tip that is lol !!!! I'm similar to a previous comment in that I keep these on my desk and use for chalks. Why is it the obvious can be staring at you straight in the face!!!!
Thank you for your tip.

Trish

Love the idea. Can see how easy that would make it. By the way where did you get that flower stamp set. Love it. cstony134@yahoo.com

I'm with Lil-Rosi, "Why didn't I think of that?" Such a simple solution. Now to keep them hidden from the kitties that like to help me scrap & steal supplies! LOL

BTW, I figured out the one blog problem I mentioned in my email.

This is clever! Thanks! I will also use a marker on the edges and the tip of the marker fits in the corners. there's also a product out there by Tsukineko called Fantastix. It's a felt pen w/o any ink on it and you can absorb any color ink you wish from your pad. It comes in brush tip (with a point) or bullet (rounded head). The Bullet also makes fabulous dots!
Have you ever tried adding glue to the edges of chipboard and sprinkling with fine glitter? I haven't but it just popped into my head as I was looking at your lovely detail.
I LOVE everything you create, Patter!!!
