God’s Attribute: God is our Provider. He is our Yahweh Yireh.
How does this affect my daily life? When you think of “provision,” what do you think of? Material things? Food? Or do you think of things like strength and wisdom? And who do you look to to provide for your needs? A friend? Your spouse? We should be looking to God and trusting Him for His provision. And He not only provides the physical things but He also provides for our emotional and spiritual needs too. Think of the strength and wisdom He gives during times of trial. Think of the joy you feel even when you are not happy. Happiness is based on circumstances but He can give us joy even in those “unhappy” or difficult moments.
Notice God’s attribute is Yahweh Yireh. Well, Yireh means “to see.” God is eternal and all-knowing. He not only provides for our daily needs but also for our need for salvation. He provided for our eternal need through the death and resurrection of His Son. Romans 8:32 says “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?” Such a perfect scripture showing your Yahweh Yireh!
Today I wanted to share another one of my favorite old hymns with you—"Though Troubles Assail Us." Notice how each verse ends in “The Lord will provide.” What an amazing truth to remember.
Though Troubles Assail Us
Though troubles assail us and dangers affright,
Though friends should all fail us and foes all unite,
Yet one thing secures us, whatever betide,
The promise assures us, “The Lord will provide.”
The birds, without garner or storehouse, are fed;
From them let us learn to trust God for our bread.
His saints what is fitting shall ne’er be denied
So long as ’tis written, “The Lord will provide.”
When Satan assails us to stop up our path,
And courage all fails us, we triumph by faith.
He cannot take from us, though oft he has tried,
This heart cheering promise, “The Lord will provide.”
He tells us we’re weak, our hope is in vain,
The good that we seek we never shall obtain,
But when such suggestions, our graces have tried,
This answers all questions, “The Lord will provide.”
No strength of our own and no goodness we claim;
Yet, since we have known of the Savior’s great Name,
In this our strong tower for safety we hide:
The Lord is our power, “The Lord will provide.”
When life sinks apace, and death is in view,
The word of His grace shall comfort us through,
Not fearing or doubting, with Christ on our side,
We hope to die shouting, “The Lord will provide.”
I don’t have a page for you again this week. My husband is still ill, and though I am walking through this difficult time, I can trust that the Lord will provide for us in all things! So, the passage I have chosen for this week is the passage mentioned above:
Romans 8:32 “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?”
Remember to use Keyword HHN09 when posting in online galleries, and to chat about the challenge, join us in this thread here on Splitcoaststampers. I pray as you study this week that you will lean on our amazing Father, our Provider. Blessings in Him,
