Have you ever been to a hotel and noticed how the cleaning service leaves little cards in the bathroom and maybe on the bed? Maybe the card is signed; maybe it's just a printed card with the hotel's "signature." Well, recently as my husband was away again on one of his worldwide trips, I decided to use this idea to make cleaning fun for the kids. Yes, I have teenagers but cleaning isn't their most favorite thing BUT this made it fun for them. Cleaning for Daddy because they love him and leaving a special note telling him what they cleaned just for him WAS very fun for them!
First, I had the kids choose from several chores--cleaning Daddy's bathroom, vacuuming, dusting, etc. I then told them they could choose their cardstock color and stamp to create their own "hotel card" for Daddy. They each wrote special notes in their cards telling their daddy that "his bathroom was cleaned especially for him because they love him." They wrote precious notes, and they loved knowing they were cleaning to make it special for Daddy's return home.
Of course I had to remind them a few times that we do things because we love people not necessarily because we love the task itself. :) So, use this idea with your kids or grandkids. Maybe crafting a little card with a special note just from them will make that next chore fun! Enjoy, and happy Tuesday!

Aww what a sweet idea. I should do this for my kids. Then maybe they will get the hint that maybe they should do this for me ;)
