My {Sunday Afternoon} Project!

Sewing my curtains for my new craft room this past week really put me in to mood to sew. I love to sew, and I never do it anymore. So, this afternoon I decided to waste my afternoon!!! Did I have DT work to do? Yes! Did I have things to do around the house? Yes! Did I feel a little bit guilty? Yes, just a bit! But, I did it anyway!! I took the afternoon to make this:
I have stashes of patterns and fabric waiting to be used so I decided to make this little bag for my new Kindle. The fabric is Moda Hunky Dory, and the pattern I used is the Smarty Girl Book Bag pattern by Heather Bailey. I just love it! I think my husband thought I was nuts but I thought maybe y'all might like to see it! It is roomy enough to hold my Kindle and other items. I think this will be a fun bag to carry around the rest of the summer! Thanks for letting me share, and have a joyous Sunday evening everyone!

Now, doesn't making one cute book bag like that at your house call for Three more??? :) I guess it could be a "Home Ec." project, but maybe that is not a part of school curriculum anymore. You will be right in style with your bag. My college grand daughters love Vera Bradley bags.

Hi Patter....
I have a question re:BSF! I checked out their website from ur blog and found their studies to be very interesting. I have never heard of this organization. I assume u have completed their studies? I was wondering did u complete the 8 yrs back to back or how did u complete them? My reason in asking is I would love to do this but I have a chronic illness and at times may not be able to make classes, etc. Is it pretty rigorous? Just curious! I would love to hear ur experience!

Patter. I love your bag. I have very much enjoyrd keeping up on the progression of your new craft room. We are downsizing in the next 2 months and are moving from a 4 bedroom farm house to a 2 bedroom upper flat in Milwaukee. My biggest concern is relocating my craft room!!I was so excited to see your curtains, as I was trying to decide which basic grey fabric to use for my new curtains. I was also considering using a second pattern for a bathroom curtain. It's just so hard to choose which ones!!
p.s. my sister has 2 caique's as well, and I have a macaw.
Blessings

What a cute bag!! My dh just got a Kindle too. I think he'll stick with the leather cover we bought for it though. LOL

Sometimes, you just have to step away and do something crafty for fun...not just because you have to. :) Don't feel guilty.

Patter, girl! This is gorgeous! I have been wanting to find a cute pattern so I could make one for myself and possibly add in my etsy store.... is this a really complex one, or fairly simple? Love it!
