Well, we had our first Winter Weather Advisory last night. We almost never get that in Texas until February/March! WOW! And an advisory for us just means it's going to get cold. LOL! So, now that it's cold here, it's a great time to stay inside and create! So, how about joining in on today's ODBD challenge? Your challenge today is to use gold or silver cording, craft hemp or string. Easy and fun! Let's look at what I created.
I decided to use twine on my card by wrapping it around a popsicle stick and tying it through the button. I also used the new ODBD Snowflake Background stamp that was just released this week. I stamped it in Tim Holtz Old Paper distress ink directly onto my card base. I then used one of the sentiments from the ODBD set called Peace & Joy.
Papers: Paper Trey Ink kraft cs, Basic Grey Jovial
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs Snowflake Background, Our Daily Bread Designs Peace & Joy
Stamp Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink old paper; SU sage shadow, VersaMark, Ranger clear ep
Embellishments: hand-dyed seam binding, Basic Grey button, sewing machine, popsicle stick, Paper Trey Ink rustic twine
And my card matches the card from last week's challenge so that I can make a set of Christmas cards. Here are the two cards together:
So, maybe y'all can use each week's challenge to make a set of cards. How fun! If you would like to see more challenge creations, please be sure to check out the other ODBD Challenge Team creations here:

What a perfect set! So creative!! I just love your choice of dp (my fave Christmas paper!). your use of the popsicle stick and string is so innovative!! Great job on this week's challenge! Have a great weekend!!
hugs,
Chris
Your cards are absolutely beautiful! What a creative touch using the popsicle stick! Did you tie your bow by hand? I also live in north central Texas and had to make sure all my mum plants were protected so we wouldn't loose them -- really early freeze this year!!
Vickie
Thanks Vickie! And yes, I hand-tied my bow. I just made a triple layer of ribbon and then tied a normal bow. After I tied it, I spread it apart a little. Super easy. :) Stay warm up there. I just ran an errand, and the car said it is 42. Yuck! :)
Awesome cards Patter! Both are terrific designs and that Popsicle stick is ingenious! Brilliant and innovative idea. I love your DP as well. God bless!
Hi Patter~
It was 46 degrees this morning in Central Florida! That is cold very early for us!
I think that this set of cards is just wonderful. I love the dp. The one on the right reminds me of a very comfortable flannel shirt I have in the wash right now! I love the colors in your seam binding! The popsicle stick is a great idea! You are always so creative!

WOW, Patter, you never cease to amaze me with your creations!! This is thinking way out of the box with the popsicle stick...love it. Gotta go in my garage and dig out that box of 1000 popsicle sticks I bought a long time ago for projects with my oldest ;D. You've got my wheels spinning now. The papers you have used are fabulous...I am still to scared to mix and match,LOL! Have a fabulous weekend. Hugs and blessings, Sabrina
