Faber-Castell {Design Memory Craft} Come in to Win!

A few weeks ago, I saw an ad in a magazine for the new Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft products (Gelatos, PITT Artist Pens, watercolor pencils, metallic pens, etc.). Well, I thought to myself, "I really want to try these. They look SO fun!" Well, not 4 hours later, I got an e-mail from Chelsy asking me if I would be interested in trying these products and sharing them on my blog and having a give-away! Wow, I get to try them AND my subscribers have a chance to win? Well, I couldn't turn that down! I was SO, SO excited. The products came, and I have been playing! Oh are they fun! Let's look at what I used, what I created, and how you can win some of this fun stuff.

The Layout
I decided to create an 8x8 layout using the Gelatos and PITT Artist Pens. To begin, I started with the white Gelatos, my pink Bazzill cardstock, and my water bottle. I spritzed the Memory Box Vintage Record Sheet {G1712} stamp with water, and then I colored it with the white Gelatos and stamped it onto the cardstock:

Next, I splashed the orange Gelatos on the cardstock by rubbing some Gelatos onto my acrylic block, spritzing it with water, then getting it all on my paintbrush to "flick" onto the paper.  There are subtle drops of orange on the layout. A darker color of course would give a bolder affect.

Then I used the PITT big brush pen to ink up the Memory Box Gorgeous Mini Bloom {B1761} stamp. Because the color would have been too bold, I stamped on a scrap piece of paper first then stamped again onto my cardstock. I wanted the brown color just not so bold. :) Oh, and these markers color fabulously onto stamps! WOW!

I also used that same stamp and the larger Memory Box Gorgeous Bloom {E1760} stamp to create the flower in the bottom left-hand corner of the layout. I used the full color from the brush pen for the flower then I added some doodle lines to the pink cardstock to "define the space." And here is how my 8x8 layout turned out. The photo is of the “Valentine Bunch” my husband brought home to me and our identical triplets for Valentine’s Day this year. The colors represent each of our favorite colors. Gotta love that man!

Papers: Memory Box Pixie, Bazzill cs
Faber-Castell: PITT big brush pen nougat, Gelatos white and orange
Stamps: Memory Box Vintage Record Sheet G1712, Memory Box Gorgeous Mini Bloom B1761, Memory Box Gorgeous Bloom E1760
Embellishments: Memory Box pearl lace and classic scallop dies, Memory Box white pearl stickers, Making Memories tiny alpha stickers, Basic Grey piper chip alpha, Kaiser Craft pearl (large)

Don't these products look fun? They are so easy and quick to use, easy clean up, and lots of possibilities! Both of these products can be used directly on your stamps and many other ways too. I can't wait to play more!

Here is What You Can Win
Two blessed random subscribers will win both of the described items below! All you have to do is leave a comment here on the blog sharing whether you have used the product, how you like them, if you would like to try them, if you like the possibilities, anything about these great products!!! Your comment must be left here by this Thursday, April 28th, at 11:59 p.m. Central! I will pick two random winners and post the names on Friday, April 29th, along with photos of how I have decided to store these fun products!

Here is a description of what two lucky winners will receive:  Mix and Match from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft makes designing with color simple. Choose a color set that inspires you. Choose a medium. Mix & Match as you create. Color coordinated palettes give you the freedom to design your project knowing the colors will work beautifully together. Perfect for all your design, memory and craft projects.

Mixed Media Sampler Sets in Red, Yellow, Blue and Green encourage you to spread your creative wings and experiment with mixing mediums! Each set includes a Stamper’s Big Brush, Gelato Metallic Stick, Pastel Pencil and Art GRIP Aquarelle Watercolor pencil. Experiment with mixing colors and mediums or layer different mediums to create depth and details. Or try using your rubber stamps with the different mediums to see which effects you like the most.
Color Gelatos are creamy sticks infused with brilliant color. The color slides easily onto papers and can then be dissolved with water to create watercolor effects, or left to dry for vibrant bursts of color. Try stamping with the Color Gelatos, or apply a field of color and use a stamp to remove the color. Color Gelatos work wonderfully on flocked papers and embellishments too! Color Gelatos are acid-free and odorless.
I hope you have enjoyed today's post! And a huge thanks to Faber-Castell for allowing me to play and give y'all a chance to win! It has been FUN! Be sure to leave your comment here by Thursday! I can't wait to see who our two blessed winners will be! Have a wonderful week ahead!!

Gelato makes me think of wonderful Italian ice cream....these are fascinating, and I enjoy how you've used them. Serendipitous moments such as your story are part of the joy of making things, aren't they?
I've never consciously heard/seen of these products before, but you've used them beautifully. Celebrating Jesus' resurrection daily---and hoping to scrap & make cards with photos I just took of my sweet daughter's baptism, Jennifer in Ohio

I have just purchased some of the PITT pens and some of the gelatos. Haven't had time to use the gelatos, as they arrived last week, and we were hosting Easter dinner here. I like the PITT pens, but had better luck using them on acrylic stamps than on rubber. Any tips you could share for using them with rubber stamps would be appreciated. Can't waith to try the gelatos, and hoping to have the chance to win some more. I would also like to try the aquarelle pencils!

Hi there,

I have been reading your organizational posts the last couple of days...well, catching up as I have read some of them before. :) Very excited that you have had a chance to work with these products. I love Faber Castell products but I have not gotten a chance to try these yet. Your layout looks awesome. I love how you defined the corners by flicking the paint and drawing the brush strokes. I really love Memory Box stamps so that is how I originally saw your work. I love that you do layouts with Memory Box stamps also, they are always refreshing and inspiring! I am still a new cardmaker, have not tried layouts yet but I have been collecting supplies and will someday find the courage to just do it. :) Anyway, I could go on and on. Thank you so much for the chance to win! I hope you have a wonderful week!

Hi Patter,

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to receive these very interesting products!

I do not believe I have used their products except possibly playing with some colored pencils when over my nieces home. I love to color, and eventually, I make them into cards.

I am quite interested in the idea of the Gelatos. I have never seen them, and I love bright colors! The only gelato I know of is a type of ice cream!

However, I know that I am so shy of mixing different medias. I know I would like to try for the Mixed Media Sampler Set especially.
If I were fortunate enough to be chosen for this set, it would help me step out into the unknown for me. I am not familiar with any of the products listed in this set...so it would give me a great opportunity to learn and expand my horizons. I have wanted to learn to mix things up...but have been timid, since I don't really know how to do it!

I am really excited about trying the different items on their own...and together! I think mixed medias would make incredible backgrounds for scrapbook pages and cards!

Thank you and Chelsy for this wonderful opportunity.

Hi,

I have not used these particular Faber Castell products, but I have used their Pitt artist pens with my Copic markers because they do not bleed or smear with them. Thanks for the opportunity.
