{Crochet Butterflies} You Asked :)

Several of you enjoyed what I shared in my post yesterday about the crocheted butterflies. If you missed that post, please look here. Some of you wanted to see photos and some wanted the pattern. So, I thought I would share that with you today.  First, here are some photos of the butterflies we have collected over the years. We try to reuse them instead of getting new ones each year because it does take a lot to crochet SO many butterflies for Easter.

And here is a link to the pattern. This pattern is a bit time consuming. If you want something more simple, here is a pattern I love to use:

Butterfly Pattern:
Ch 3, sl st in 1st ch to form a ring.

Notes: 1 round completes the butterfly. All of the stitches on Rnd 1 are worked in the Ch 3 ring, and stitches need to be pushed toward the beg of the rnd as you crochet.

Rnd 1: * ch 3, 2 tr, ch 3, sl st **, [ch 2, dc, ch 2, sl st] twice, rep from * to ** once, [ch 4, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and next 2 ch, sl st] twice.

Fasten off.

Unfornately, I can't remember where I got the pattern so I cannot give the person credit. I am SO sorry. You can see the photo of this little butterfly by clicking here. This sweet, easy butterfly is to the right of the light pink flower in the photo. :) These are much easier and quicker to make!

I hope you enjoy these, and may God bless you as you use them in your ministries! Blessings,
Photobucket

What a joy! I once knew some very basic crochet & have forgotten how, but enjoyed seeing these darling examples. Thank you for posting the pictures and links, and for your sharing of ideas and faith.

We are using the idea of Debbie Macomber's book ONE PERFECT WORD as our program for the ladies' luncheon (mother-daughter-sisters of all ages) on Mother's Day weekend---in Sunday School & Bible study we've been choosing our words, and are to bring a small poster (mine will use scrapping supplies) of our word with related Bible verses. Doesn't that sound a lot like your inspiration challenges? Yup---I more or less got the idea from you! "Listen" is my theme for 2012. Thanks for all the inspiration from your layouts and writing, Patter. --Jennifer in Ohio

Patter,
I would very much like to make some of these darling butterflies for my Easter Tree, but am having difficulty w/the available pattern. 1) Calls for a "Magic Ring", and the links are deactivated. 2) Do You use pipe cleaners on Your butterflies? The antennae on Your butterflies don't look like the pipe cleaners called for in the pattern.
Thanks SO much!

Hi Patter~
I don't crochet but these are adorable! I just had to pop in and tell you, you are very talented when it comes to yarn made items of all types!

BTW, I haven't noticed the new photo of you in your profile area. You look absolutely beautiful Patter! Your eyes are stunning, and your hair looks so shiny. Sorry I hadn't noticed this photo before...or maybe it's the same and I just have my glasses on...either way. Keep doing what you've been doing! It agrees with you! :)
