{3} Blue Fern Studios Layouts

Blessed Sunday. Today I am sharing three 8x8 layouts on the Blue Fern Studios blog, and I thought I would share them here with you too. I hope you will enjoy them and find some fun ideas to use. All of my layouts are 8x8, and they are just the perfect size for me. Now let's look at these smaller layouts.

"Keep Faith"
We are finally members of a church in our new town. I am so excited, and of course scrapping a picture of our new church was very important to me. So, here it is (below). For this layout I used the Tuscan Window chipboard as a topper to my photo. I then added the Garden Window shutters to the sides of my photo. I liked mixing the two chipboard sets.

I wanted to leave my chipboard raw as I liked the raw color on the layout. To dress them up, I just stamped on them using brown ink.
Papers: Prima Engraver Collection Arcade, Prima Lifetime Collection Blue Bayou and Dolce, Memory Box meadow cs, Bazzill cs
Stamp: Memory Box Circle Word Background E1711
Stamp Ink: SU Chocolate Chip
BFS Chipboard: Tuscan Window (topper) and Garden Window (shutters)

Embellishments: Cheery Lynn Designs Tropical Flourish die, Prima Corine and Lucerne Fairy Belle flowers, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, 7Gypsies ticket, Melissa Frances resin pieces, vintage Flinch card, Prima Junk Yard Findings clock, sewing machine

"Beautiful Iris"
In our new house in October, the irises began to bloom. Kind of late I believe but we moved them from the front yard to the side so I think they were in a bit of shock. But once they came up, wow! I used the Blooming Foliage chipboard on this page.

To create the fun texture on Blooming Foliage chipboard, I mixed a bit of glass bead gel with green acrylic paint. I then spread it on the chipboard. While it was still wet, I then misted it with a mix of gesso and water. It has a really fun texture when you touch it but it's hard to tell in the photos.

Papers: Magenta Boscage Aroma, Paper Trey Ink cs, Bazzill cs
BFS Chipboard: Blooming Foliage
Embellishments: Spellbinders lattice rectangle die; Manor House Creations prior rose chocolate; Making Memories tiny alpha; Maya Road vintage edge mocha mum; Petaloo leaves; Prima wood embellishments (houses), Say it in Crystals brown, Sunrise Sunset sticker; green flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts; sewing machine

"Love Always"
And for my last layout, I thought I would share my husband's executive work photo. I don't have a lot of scrapped photos of him so this one is special. I used the Vintage Locks and the word 'love' from the Valentine Word Set here.

I wanted my chipboard to look like leather since this was a masculine layout. To achieve that, I just covered the chipboard in distress ink. It worked very well for the look I wanted.

Papers: Prima Lifetime Collection Dolce and Love Tags, Magenta Hint of Freshness, Bazzill cs
BFS Chipboard: Valentine Word Set and Vintage Locks colored with Tim Holtz Distress Ink walnut stain
Embellishments: Spellbinders fleur de lis rectangle die, Manor House Creations poetry sage flower, Cheery Lynn Designs tropical flourish die, Basic Grey Serenade mini envelopes, joint tape from Lowe's, smaller flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, Maya Road zipper trim, Prima zipper and Say it in Crystals brown, clothes pins from Hobby Lobby, burlap from Fabric.com, sewing machine

Thanks for joining me today, and you can purchase all Blue Fern Studios chipboard here in the C'est Magnifique store. And be sure to visit the Blue Fern Studios blog by clicking here. Blessings,

Beautiful layouts, church, chipboard, flowers, and handsome husband. I love the layers of different textures. What is the something or other with all the little round holes in it? (On your husband's LO). I am glad you have joined your church in time to celebrate Easter joyously. No blooms yet here, but the bulbs have sent green points up through the ground so there is hope. Agh, thanks everyone. :) And yeah, I think he is kind of handsome, Jennifer. :) And the stuff with the holes on his layout is joint tape from Lowe's. It's really fun, and you can paint it too. Love finding scrappy stuff at the hardware store. LOL! Blessings,
