A Little Sunday Creation

If you remember my post from Tuesday (click here), I shared a card using some paper scraps and mixed media. Today I wanted to share another card using the same paper scraps and more mixed media. You can see how even though I used the same paper, I was able to achieve two very different cards.
Papers: Memory Box Brioche, Paper Trey Ink cs for notecard
Blue Fern Studios chipboard: Heart Panel Chunky (painted with Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint tattered rose and misted with Lindy's salt water taffy)
Embellishments: Manor House Creations Mayglo mix flower; misc. free pattern printable; The Crafter's Workshop template with modeling paste; Paper Trey Ink button; Liquid Pearls petal pink; Kaisercraft Needle and Thread Collectable; May Arts twine; sewing machine

I used a flower from one of my favorite flower manufacturers (Manor House Creations) and a heart from the Blue Fern Studios Heart Panel Chunky chipboard. This piece of chipboard measures 11.75" square and comes with lots of little hearts that you can use on smaller creations like this. LOVE this piece of chipboard. :)

And a little funnythe sentiment I used did not come on the free digi printable. I typed it onto the printable using my Smith-Corona manual typewriter. Yesterday was my birthday, and I decided to spend my day in my studio cleaning and rearranging. I am hoping to get my video posted soon. Anyway, as I was rearranging and cleaning, I decided to put my manual typewriter out. I have been using it lately on my creations and in my project life spreads, and instead of having it on the floor, I put it on one of my tables. My daughter comes in and says "That looks nice there, Mom. Very vintage." Excuse me. It's NOT vintage. It's from 1972. LOL! For those of you born in the '60s like me, you will certainly understand that what's normal for us to use is not vintage. :)

Anyway, have a blessed Sunday, and thanks for stopping by!

I totally agree, Patter? I mean how could something from our childhood be vintage?! Lol

Happy Belated Birthday! What a fun way to spend your specisl day. I just can't imagine your studio being anymore organized or cleaned up.

Hi Patter!
Hope you had a wonderful Birthday! Although cleaning and rearranging is NOT my PERSONAL ideal of wonderful...:)
Thanks for making my day! I was born in 1972 and I had never really though of myself as "vintage!"
I was actually "carded" (to prove my age) when I purchased a can of spray paint at hardware store recently! I think...
"hmmm not too bad for this ol' vintage lady!" hugh?

Valerie

BTW...How are Sugar and Kiwi doing? You have not given any update on them in a while. I'll bet the move was tough on them? Did you ever get your boundary issues with your property worked out? I had been praying about that.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATTER!!!!! :) I KNOW EXACTLY what you mean about the word "Vintage!" I sent a friends daughter a gift for her baby & my friend told her the pattern was "VINTAGE" because I got it out of a magazine when I was a kid! BOY, DID THAT MAKE ME FEEL OOOOOOOOOOLD!!!!!!!!!! LOL :)

This is a great use of scraps. It can be a challenge to make use of the artistic leftovers. I really like your notecards, they really draw attention well. I like your use of embellishments and especially your use of the flowers. I am glad that you had a great birthday, I think I am starting to become vintage.
