{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge for 2015

I have been sharing God’s word through my art and paper crafting for 6 years now. Can you believe this will be my 7th year leading Bible devotions and studies through art on my blog? God has been so good to allow me to share His word through art for all of these years. For 2015, we will be doing something a little different. I will still be sharing 24 Bible teachings based on word studies, hymns, or whatever God brings to me over the course of 2015. For this new study, however, I will not just being doing 6x6 scrapbook pages. For 2015, I will be creating through various art mediums. I will be sharing different pieces of art depending on where God leads me that particular week. You have seen me do that already this year. For this new study, some weeks I may share an art journaling page, some weeks Scripture Art Cards, other week a scrapbook page, and others a Bible journaling page, etc. God is pleased with any of our art forms, and my greatest desire is to glorify God. I try to do that through everything I create whether it be paper crafting, mixed media art, etc., thus the birth of “Glory ArtBringing Glory to God Through Art.”

Exodus 31:4-5 ". . .to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts."

First let's look at the types of art you might create in 2015. Then below my samples, you can read all of the details on the study.

Scrapbook Album, ATC, Art Journaling Pages, Cards--What Will You Create?
So, what will you create for 2015? What have you done in the past? You may have noticed this year that I have been creating different things each week. Maybe you are new to these challenges and would like some ideas. You can:

*Create Scripture Art cards and put them in page protectors.

*Create ATCs and put them on a holder or in page protectors.

*Create any size scrapbook page and put the pages in an album (here is an 8 1/2 x 11 and 6x6 page).

*Create an art journaling page.

*Create a Journaling Bible page highlighting the verse you have chosen.

*Create a card and mail it to someone that might need to hear the words you have for them.

*Or create anything else you can think of; let God lead you.

Wow, just look at all of the different ways you can worship and glorify the Lord through art! You can create anything you wish, and it can vary from study to study. These are just ideas! It is truly a blessing, and I hope you will join me! Now for more specific details.

If You Participate, Do You Have to Create Something?
Absolutely not! :) You can just study God's Word and keep notes. You do not have to create a thing! I personally love the creating part and someday my kids can have these creations too as part of my faith legacy. For those of you not creating, you may just want to keep a journal with your study notes. Those too will be treasures for the generations to come.

What if You Want to Study with People at Church?
Wonderful! Please have them study along. However, I ask that you not copy my work. I also ask that you have the participants print the study directly from my blog post each time. It takes me many, many hours to prepare these studies, and they are inspired by the Lord. The studies are copyrighted, and I pray that you respect that. Thank you! For more information, please see the section below titled "Will this challenge be hosted on other sites? What about posting on my own blog?"

Now let me share a bit about how this challenge will work.
**I will post two studies a month beginning Sunday, January 11, 2015. Mark your calendars, and see the entire 2015 calendar below! :)
**Challenges will usually be posted by 5 p.m. Eastern Time on challenge Sundays.
**My post will also share some thoughts, scripture or scriptures that I chose (usually from the NIV), and a picture of my art for that week.
**Then you will study your Bible and find scriptures that are meaningful to you based on the study and truth posted for that week.
**I love using Biblegateway to look up single keywords in the Bible. It is a great resource for this study.
**For hymns, Hymnary is a great resource for scripture text based on a hymn.
**Then you can create your art using your selected scripture and thoughts based on the study for that week.

Will you share any art tips?
**Yes, this coming year I will share a tip for each challenge post. I may even post a video or two. :)

Is there a time limit to complete the challenge?
No, there is not a time limit to complete the challenge. This is for you so that you can study and learn to apply God's truths to your daily life! You do what you can when you can. Is there a blinkie for this challenge?
Yes, but let's call it a button instead of a blinkie. :) It's a miniature version of the picture at the beginning of this post. I did not make one that blinks. It is a "stand alone" button. You will find this button in the sidebar of my blog and below this paragraph. Right-click and save it to your computer to add to your blog. I also ask that you link it back to this post or my blog. Feel free to add it to your message board signatures too. I hope you like it.

I love that Proverbs 25 card near the bottom! Is that a stamp? If so, where is it from?

Thank you for your kind invitation! Just wondering where you found the card holder. It looks like it spins. Do you know what I would search under? Thank you.

So glad you are continuing with another challenge Patter, they are a real blessing to me ! I am behind this year but will complete as many as I can before the new challenge begins. Hope your daughter is doing well after her procedure !

Tiffani, yes, that is a stamp. It is from Our Daily Bread Designs but I believe it has been discontinued. They have many, many more scripture stamps though.

And Donna, the card holder is called the 7 Gypsies ATC Card Holder. It too is no longer available but you can find it on eBay sometimes. Also, there is another ATC holder I like. You can find it here:

And Susan, thank you. My daughter is doing okay, not great. She is having a lot of left-leg nerve pain. We are praying God would remove that.

Glad to have you all joining in. I am looking forward to it! Blessings,

Patter, I have always liked all the different art that you do and especially you heart and wisdom for The Lord.
I use to be a leader in
Community Bible Study. It is very much like BSF. I would love to join you and hope I can keep up.

Thank you for your sweet words Sharon. And I was in CBS for a year. It was actually started by someone that was in BSF then branched off and started CBS. Yes, it is very similar and definitely a great ministry too!

And feel free to join in when you can next year. I only do 24 studies now because it gets to be too much for people. Can you believe when I first started I did 52 studies? Eeek! :) Have a blessed day!

Your Glory Art challenge sounds wonderful! I'm afraid I didn't keep up with this year's challenge because I struggled with the format I started. I love the idea of scripture cards and that you will be using different mediums. I will give it another go! Bless you and thanks for this x

Hello, Patter!
After several years of completing your challenges, I was very sorry to not be able to complete 2014.
With my Mom getting ill, and passing away, everything just stopped for a while.
I'm excited to begin the 2015 Challenge! I'm looking forward to what you have to share, and all that God has to teach me!
Thank you for your continued faithfulness to the Lord! :o)

hi Patter! I have visited your blog before and did study along several years ago, making ATC's. I was reluctant to chime in for fear of not completing what I set out to do. But, I was quickly prompted by the spirit, "any effort and time I make will be time spent with the Lord and in His word...so just do it! Don't pass up learning and growing in the present, He will take care of the future" So here I am...*grin*.

I am primarily a card maker, I send or donate most of my cards; I am the coordinator for Cards For A Cause on Splitcoaststampers. I like the idea of being able to do anything. I want to start art journaling in my Bible and I have also purchased art journaling notebooks to attempt a little mixed media. I am not a fan of FB, you can find me on my blog, SCS, Pinterest or Etsy.
