Journaling {Bible} James 1:5

A few days before my daughter's spinal surgery, I was seeking God's will and direction. I decided to look through some of my old sermon notes, and I came across some notes from July 8, 2012. The pastor talked about when we make decisions, we base them on emotions instead of truth. Satan tries to confuse us with emotions, and by nature we make the wrong decision. He referenced these scriptures:

1 Chronicles 28:9 "And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve Him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever."

Jeremiah 29:13 "You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart."

Matthew 7:7-8 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

Acts 17:26-27 "From one man He made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from any one of us."

James 1:5 "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."

James 4:2-3 "You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures."

I went through my Bible carefully reading each scripture noted above. Through my study, God clearly gave me the direction I was seeking. I was overcome with awe for how He always uses His word to teach me and guide me. I of course wanted to put that moment in my journaling Bible. I journaled the main truth from the pastor's sermon back on July 8, 2012, which says "Seek His face and ask for His direction." Then I journaled my own personal notes from Oct. 28th when this particular moment happened.
In the close-up photo, you can see how I used the small black arrow stamp to point to God's word. That is where I always need to go for any decision I need to make. It's where I need to go to know how to live daily for Him.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a blessed Sunday!
