New {Prayer} Journal

Recently I joined our prayer group at church. I also have been meaning to make a new prayer journal for a few months so this was the perfect opportunity. Let's look at what I did.

First, I purchased a leather journal made by Buteo Bunker on Etsy. I added the sari ribbon for a bit of color and fun. The size of my journal is 5.5" x 3.5" with ample overhang. I then used four Moleskine Cahiers Squared Journals inside dividing them up into my prayer sections marked by tabs.

To create the tabs, I printed some of Roben-Marie's digital art (available by clicking here) onto Neenah Premium Cardstock. I then punched the tabs with my WRMK tab punch which is linked in my product list at the end of this post. Next, I printed the labels and covered each tab in Document Repair Tape. It has a matte finish, and it will keep the tabs nice over time. I did sew on each tab before adhering to my pages. The stitching is not necessary but I tend to sew on everything I create. I love the texture and strings.

The tabs I created are:

*Adoration
*Husband
*Children
*Others
*Church
*Country
*Me
*Listen
*Sermon Study
*Quotes
*Scrap Paper

I like having my journal set up like this instead of specific days for specific prayer. This personally works better for me. The art you see on some of the pages is just leftover paint. Whenever I have paint left on a stencil or anything like that, I am putting it on these pages to give them a bit of texture for fun.

I hope this has been helpful especially for those of you that struggle putting together a prayer journal. Feel free to ask questions in the comment section below. I will answer you there. Have a blessed weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

I love this Patter. I have a Webster's TN cover that I've been using for notebooks for church sermon notes and Illustrated Faith devotionals. I think I'll add a notebook for prayer and do tabs like you did. Thanks for this inspiring post.

I love this, Patter. Where did you get the leather strip that has your name stamped in it?

Hi Patter! What a great prayer journal! It is so upbeat and colorful (I see a lot of pink!) It looks like the perfect tool to keep track of how He answers your prayers! Keeping you and your family lifted up!

Thanks for your comments everyone. And Traci, thank you for keeping us in prayer. You are too sweet!

Sharon, the label with my name is from the same seller on etsy where I got the journal. I think it was $5, and I got three of them. :)

Have a blessed day everyone!

This is wonderful Patter and thank you so much for sharing. Perfect timing - God has been speaking to me about prayer and spending more time with Him. This is great and on my very soon project list.

This is so very pretty and great idea to use up the paint from your stencils. Sherylee.
