Organizational {Friday}

Okay, be honest. How many years of magazines do you have piled up? Do you really ever go back through them? I had many, many years of magazines stacked nicely in my scrap room. But did I ever go back through them? No! Did they become outdated? Yes! Well, since I found I loved collecting supplies more than magazines, I had to do something. I needed space! So, I literally took my many years worth of magazines and put them in one 2-inch binder. So for those of you that want to free up some space, and actually use the ideas in those magazines, this idea is for you!

We are going to talk about this idea for the next two weeks because you are going to create your binder. By Jan. 1st, some of you may have binders to use for the New Year! Isn't that exciting? This week, you have homework. First, sit down each night (or sometime during the day) and go through a handful of your magazines everyday. Do a little bit each day until you have gotten through all of your magazines. As you go through each one, tear out every page that has an idea you like whether it be quotes, layouts, techniques, etc. Save those in a pile and throw the magazine away. Yes, it is okay. Honestly! You will thank yourself later once your binder is complete. There are some magazines I do not tear up such as Cards and Scrapbook Trends. Those are nice idea books I want to keep as is. The rest get torn up and thrown away. Do you realize I actually had some issues that I didn't see anything I wanted to keep? Wow, and that issue was taking up valuable space on my shelf. Eek! Those magazines that were left intact, I RAK'd to friends. But the others, throw out. So, this week, go through those magazines. Also, purchase a 2-inch binder and a box of 8 1/2 x 11 page protectors. Next week, we will talk about what to do with that "to be saved stack." I hope you will join me in doing this. It really does work wonderfully! See ya next Friday! Have a blessed week!

Patter - I LOVE this idea, I am certainly in! I can't believe I haven't thought about this, great idea! Can't wait for next Friday, I'll get my homework done this week :)

I did this with my mags about 2 years ago when I realized they were just gathering dust as is. Tearing out pages (never thought I would do this) of the first mag was the hardest but after that it was great!

To this day, I actually use the mag ideas and it's a huge space saver :)

Okay, I really want to do this I'm just not sure time will allow during this time of the year? And will I go back to that binder?

Kaldesign, I am going to give tips on how to keep caught up with it too. :)

And ryzmomplus2, as you sit down to relax each night, go through a couple of magazines. It really doesn't take long, and you will get started on your binder. :D

Fab idea Patter I'm going to try and keep up with you, because my magazine pile is outta control.

At this point, I only have a few magazine (less than 10). I should do this so that it won't get out of control. I'm outgrowing my scrap space as it is and I love binders. I'll try to get my homework done.

I FINALLY got this done today-LOL! Boy was it nice to toss all those magazines. The only ones I didn't tear up were the Special Editions-which I only have a few of. I'm still unsure if I want to tear up my Paper Crafts:/
