Tuesday's {Tip} Money Saving Sites

With the economy the way it is, I thought I would share a few money saving sites that I visit.

Free Books
First, let's talk about free books. I believe I have mentioned Paperback Swap before but I a not sure. I know I have so many new subscribers so if some of my "old timers" have seen this before, please forgive me for the repeat. Paperback Swap is a place to swap used books. I have been a member since 2007, and I have saved over $378 thus far. For each book someone requests, we get a book credit once we ship it to them and they receive it. Then we get to pick book(s) we want that are listed on the site. Currently, there are almost 4 million book listed. You don’t pay a thing except the postage to ship your book to the requestor. I use media mail so I never pay more than $2.30. All of the books we have received have been in like new condition. And you can put “restrictions” on the books you get such as: "Won’t accept books from a smoking home." "Won’t accept books with any writing." Those are two of the restrictions I have on my account. So that means when I request a book from someone, they can’t send it to me if it doesn’t meet my requirements.

They also have an amazing wish list. If the book you are looking for is not available, add it to your wish list. When it becomes available, they will e-mail you and you can say you still want the book or you can decline it. The only draw back is that new/popular books may take a while to get. I always put things on my wish list anyway because you just never know. I have been pleasantly surprised many times.

To sign up, you must list 10 books you want to swap, and you will get your first credit to spend. If you sign up, please feel free to list me as your referral. My username is Patter. I literally search on EVERY book I need/want for homeschooling, scrapping, card making, Bible study, fiction reading, hymnals, Bibles, etc., there on Paperback Swap first before ever considering buying a book. I even just ordered a book for a friend. It came in new condition, and I gave it to her the other day. She is thrilled! What a cheap way to get Christmas gifts for people too! I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Free Digital Images (stamps)
I usually don't like using digital images but I am trying to play with them for a project right now. I have been researching digital sites, and I came across this challenge blog that offers free vintage digital stamp images each week. She has guest designers, tips, and adorable free images for you to use. So, if you can't buy any stamps right now, look into this site: Digital Two for Tuesday.

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps also offers free digital stamps on Thursdays. You can see more about their freebies here.

There are also many other sites that offer free digital stamps. Just do a google search, and I am sure you will get a wide variety of hits.

Die Cutting Sales
I don't know if you have gone to the Ellison/Sizzix site lately but they have AMAZING sales on their products (Big Shot, Sizzix, Sizzlets, etc.). Sign up for their newsletter, and you will get coupon codes to use too. I love their Clearance Page because most items are 80% off--dies, embossing plates, machines, etc. Shop their clearance before ever shopping anywhere else. You could be VERY surprised!

So, check out these sites, and enjoy saving a bit of money!!! Have a blessed Tuesday.

I have been using PaperBack Swap for about 2 years and LOVELOVELOVELOVE it...I love how I can see what number I am to receive the book...love how they just automatically ship it to me, it is fantastic! I do have quite a long wait for some of the newest releases, most popular books, but I can sometimes get them faster than the library.

I've been collecting digital images recently and playing with them. My favorite is Mo's Digital Pencil Too. She has a group on Papercraft Planet and gives freebies there sometimes, and her images are just amazing quality.

I just found the Digital Two for Tuesday yesterday. ;-)
