Tuesday's {Tip} Cheesecloth?

You may or may not have notice on the layout I posted on Sunday that I used cheesecloth. Over the past year or so, I have seen gauze on various layouts around the web. I thought it looked so beautiful. Well, I did try to purchase some gauze only to find out, they now have all sorts of different gauze. I just wanted the plain "cottony" stuff, and it was hard for me to find. So, instead I tried cheesecloth. Bingo! That's exactly what I was looking for! It is so airy and beautiful. It is easy to work with, and it will flatten fine in a page protector. Here is a look at the difference between the cheesecloth (left) and the rolled gauze I found (right):

You might be asking, why doesn't she use tulle. Well, that works too but it looks different. I have tulle but haven't used it in a while. I may need to pull it back out too.

To attach the cheesecloth, I just cut a small piece, twisted it a bit at the ends, and adhered with a dot of Glossy Accents. It works great and holds well that way. And if you notice in the photo below, I left the frayed ends "as is." I thought it gave a nice look. Here is a close-up of the cheesecloth from Sunday's layout:

Cheesecloth is very inexpensive. I bought mine from amazon.com. I got 3 yards for $5.81. Fabric.com had some for $3.98 a yard but Amazon was cheaper plus free shipping. That amount should last me a while. I also noticed that Bed Bath and Beyond has it as well as Ace Hardware. Some of you may even have some cheesecloth in your kitchens. So, find some cheesecloth, and have fun on your next creation!
