The other day I had a bunch of paper scraps out on my art journaling table. I was playing with my templates, and I just started putting down modeling paste on 4 different scraps. Some of the scraps I was able to cut to a nice usable size, and another had a chunk of paper missing. Here you can see two of the scraps:
Of course, I didn't want to waste these scraps so I have made 3 cards out of the 4 scraps thus far. I decided to share the card today that I created using the paper with the chunk missing. I solved the problem of the missing paper by wrapping a doily around it. I could have also covered it with embellishments, other papers, etc., but I personally liked the wrapped doily.
Papers: Memory Box Butterfield and Brioche, Paper Trey Ink cs for notecard
Blue Fern Studios chipboard: Spring Iris Small (painted with Adirondack stream and citrus dabbers then topped with clear rock candy Distress Crackle Paint)
Embellishments: misc. free pattern printable; The Crafter's Workshop template with modeling paste; Prima Soubrette E flowers; doily from Hobby Lobby; roses and leaves from Wild Orchid Crafts; misc. jute; sewing machine
I also used the Blue Fern Studios Spring Iris Small. This particular piece of chipboard goes so well with a cluster of flowers! Now, I think you can still see a bit of the "chunk of missing paper"; however, I think it just looks like the center of the doily. Such a great way to use up scraps.

Love templates. Sorry to say I don't use them nearly often enough -- because I don't like the way I store them and find it too cumbersome to get them out. Sad, really sad. Love your great ideas!

I just love how you used your "scraps" of paper. I mean who of us doesn't save them up? I love how you used your doily it really adds to the vintage looking women on the card! The flowers really look great, too.

the blues and greens go wonderfully together, throw in a little modeling paste and voila ... very 'noice' card.
I have my own collection of paper scraps as well, but I don’t have enough time to put them in my scrapbook. Thank you for sharing your card with us. I may find some time in one of these days to complete my scrapbook. I actually find them sores to my eyes.
