{2 Cards} for Your Friday!

Hi, and happy Friday! I have two cards for you today using various Blue Fern Studios chipboard. Let's look at what I have created for you today:

Blessings
For this card, I actually started with the Blue Fern Studios Bits of Honey chipboard. I just love these pieces, and I have not used them yet so I really wanted to use this particular piece of chipboard for one of my creations today. I also used the Blue Fern Studios Spiritually Speaking chipboard for the card sentiment. Both pieces were painted with gesso, spritzed with mist, and dabbed with acrylic paint.

Papers: Paper Trey Ink kraft cs
Blue Fern Studios chipboard: Bits of Honey and Spiritually Speaking (painted with gesso, Adirondack sunshine yellow dabber, and Lindy's Stamp Gang summer lovin' sun mist)
Embellishments: Prima Lifetime Collection flowers; Tim Holtz mini gears; Cuttlebug Honeycomb embossing folder; misc. twine; misc. hand-dyed seam binding; sewing machine

Birthday Greetings
For this card, I used the Blue Fern Studios Directions and Doily Bunting chipboard pieces. I used a punch out from one the arrows in the Directions set. I used it to draw attention to the sentiment. I also added pearls to the center of the arrow so that it would match the pearls I added to the Doily Bunting chipboard.

Both cards are gorgeous! Your flower on the first card is so beautiful and I love the circle of twine...how cool is that! The doily bunting is so pretty especially with the pearls and I love how you added pearls to the arrow. Great job on both cards and TFS.

I enjoyed these very much. You are inspiring me to use more chipboard than I have ever done before. (I've even had some for months without being sure what to do with it.) I made a real mess on my hands with ink the other day, but it came off pretty well.

Your luscious hand-dyed seam binding strikes again!

Please forgive my ignorance, but is gesso a form of paint or primer? I know it's the Italian word for "chalk" but haven't seen it in our local craft store----possibly because I didn't know which section might contain it. Or do you buy it online?

Thanks---Jennifer in OH

Those are beautiful. I especially like the colors in the second one. Is there a particular kind of seam binding to use or is all seam binding the same? Do you ever teach classes locally?

Glad you all like today's creations, and thank you for your sweet words! I also wanted to answer your questions.

Jennifer, gesso is a primer. You can find it in Hobby Lobby, Michael's, etc. It is in the art department. I like both Liquitex and Golden brands.

As far as seam binding, I only use Hug Snug. All seam bindings are NOT the same. Hug Snug is very inexpensive, colors well, and crinkles great! I buy it here:

They have many colors but I find a roll of any of the whites/ecrus work great for making ANY color!

Hope that helps, and let me know if you have more questions. Blessings,
