Art {Journaling} Modeling Paste!

**Please Note: To see today's {Faith Journaling} post, please click here.

Oooh my goodness! I used modeling paste for the first time this week. It is SO fun to use and adds great dimension to a page. I used Liquitex Light Modeling Paste. I mixed it with a bit of Dr. Ph Martin's India Ink and then spread it on my heart foam stamp. Once it was on my stamp, I just stamped it onto the page. Here is a close-up of how the modeling paste looks:

It is hard to see the dimension in the photo but it's there! Now, I would not recommend using this on regular stamps. It would be hard to clean off and possibly ruin your stamps but with foam stamps it works great and just washed off with water! And here is how the rest of the page turned out:

I hope you enjoy today's creation. It is SO, SO fun. I pray I can get another page today as I haven't done one in several days. I need to just get messy and enjoy! Thanks for stopping by!

{Faith Journaling} Challenge #81

First, thank you to those of you that have sent me messages saying that you are praying for our family. We truly need it and appreciate them greatly!!! And I know even though we are in a valley, it still gives me great joy in lifting others up in prayer. So today, . . .

**How does praying for others affect you?

Psalm 141:2 "May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice."

Remember, to find all previous faith journaling questions, please see this post here. May you enjoy spending time in God's Word! Blessings,

Organizational {Friday} New Furniture!

Now when I say "new furniture," I don't mean I got rid of what I already have. I LOVE my Scrap 'n Cube. I think most of you that have been around a while know that. :) Anyway, I added to my Scrap 'n Cube with a new piece called the Scrap 'n Cube "Mini Apothecary Cabinet." Let me tell you, this piece is anything but "mini." LOL! I also got a new shelving unit from Hobby Lobby and added baskets from Target. I did have to move out one piece out of my room, and I will show you that too. So, let's get started. Sit back and relax; it's a long post today with lots of photos. :)

Hobby Lobby Shelf
If you remember from my room tour, I had a magazine basket that sat at the end of my office desk. You can see it here.

One day I realized that that silly basket was probably as deep as a shelving unit. If I could find a shelving unit that was the same depth, I would have more storage space. So, off to Hobby Lobby I went, and I am happy to say, I found the perfect shelving unit! I then ran to Target and purchased adorable baskets for the shelves. Here are the pieces together in my room in the spot where the magazine basket used to be:

This unit now holds:

**8x8 and 6x6 paper pads (I have a lot of them)
**Idea books
**The current scrapbook album I am working in
**Foam stamps
**My die binder
**Chipboard letters

Love that this did not take up anymore space but gave me vertical storage space!

The Mini Apothecary Cabinet
First, the dimensions of this little beauty are 38”(h) x 29-1/4”(w) x 15-7/8”(d). Definitely not what I would call a "mini" cabinet. :) And when it arrived at my house, I was stunned to see the packaging. How was I going to get it out? The delivery man told me I would need a crowbar, hammer, and various other tools. Eeek!

It was packed very well but hubby was not home to help me. So, I was bound and determined to get my furniture out. After a bit of sweat and tears, out it came!

Yes, I was able get it out all on my own. It is SO beautiful. Such a gorgeous piece of craftsmanship! And now I can really get to work! I moved one drawer unit out and into our bedroom. I needed a piece in there anyway, and this was perfect. Remember this one?

Once I moved that out, I moved in my new unit. I added some baskets, flowers, a dress form, and pink labels to the drawers to dress it up a bit. We will look at how I did the dress form in a minute. Here is how the new cabinet looks:

Oh I just LOVE this piece. Now the pieces to the left of it are the QB Storage Cart and the 2 Shelf Cube with Drawers. The storage cart is on casters so when I need in my drawer, it is easy to roll this piece out. I keep things in that drawer that I do not need often anyway.  And here you can see inside some of the baskets and drawers (I am still filling and organizing):

I am truly enjoying this piece. Everything is really at my fingertips. Love that!

Dress Form
Now I wanted to share what I did with the dress form. I purchased it from Hobby Lobby for $9. Yes, it was half off. :) I have seen people create a skirt using ribbon but I did not want to do that. I decided to use some of my left over Basic Grey fabric from my curtains. I cut 1" strips and looped them over the wire by about an inch. I then used a dot of fabric glue to keep the fabric on the wire.

I tried tying the fabric strips but I did not like it. I then alternated fabrics around the dress form and finished off with a pink satin ribbon.

I know some people make the ribbons very full so that it looks like a skirt. For now, I like it like this because it adds just a touch of color but I can still see the entire dress form. I like that! I may add more fabric later but for now this works.

Okay, so we have finally made it to the end of this post. Sorry it's so long but definitely a lot to share today. I hope you have enjoyed it. Have a blessed weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

Art {Journaling} My Pages for This Week

**Please Note: I have 3 posts today which includes this post below. For the "Time With Patter" post for Our Daily Bread Designs, please click here. I share step-by-step instructions on how I create a layout.  For today's Faith Journaling post, please click here. I wouldn't want you to miss out on any of the fun. Thank you!

Oh have I had fun!!! I cannot begin to explain how fun this is to break out from my "norm." I LOVE creating like this, playing with different paints and products, and just getting messy. If I don't like something, I can just gesso or paint over it. How cool is that? Below is a page I did this week. There is an area here that I painted over several different times because each time I just didn't like what I had put there. I ended up using it as my journaling spot. It worked perfectly for that!

No need for starting over or tearing out pages with art journaling--just paint over the mess and add something new. There are no mistakes in art journaling! :)

For my second page, I decided to go with bright colors. When I started, they were a little too bright so I put a little gesso at the top of the page, misted it with a lot of water, and let it run. I then did it again midway down the page. It not only muted the colors a little, it added to the design. Love that. I also really didn't feel like doing bright colors as I wasn't feeling "bright or joyful" at the time. But I finished the page the next day, and it was a day God answered a prayer in an amazing way! He knew I was going to feel joyful and bright when I finished the page! I can only give Him the glory!

I hope you have enjoyed my pages for today. I really feel I could do one of these every night after dinner--so relaxing and fun! Have a joyous day!

{Faith Journaling} Challenge #80

We are walking in a great valley in our family right now. I have been on my knees, I have cried a lot but I have also seen God work in mighty ways this week. With all of the things going on in the world, I know many of you are "crying" too for various reasons. But we can always know God has a purpose and that it will bring Him glory. So, . . .

**How have you seen God answer your cries recently?

Psalm 63:8 "My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me."

So, if you are in a valley, cling to Him. He will uphold you! And remember, to find all previous faith journaling questions, please see this post here. May you enjoy spending time in God's Word! Blessings,

Tuesday's {Tip} Vintage Images

Today I thought it would be fun to share some of the new books I ordered from eBay. If you like to use old papers on your cards, layouts, and/or art journaling pages, these books may just be what you are looking for! Here are the titles of the 3 books I purchased:

*Butterick's 1892 Metropolitan Fashions
*Metropolitan Fashions of the 1880's
*Jordan, Marsh Illustrated Catalog of 1891

And here is a small sampling of what the books look like inside:

The first photo shows images from the fashion books, and the second image is from the Jordon, Marsh Catalog. It contains more ads and lots of fun things to look at! I got these 3 books for about $14. :)

Now these books are too awesome to tear them all up, so I am going to save one of them for my bookshelf. They are such a hoot to read. The fashion books actually contain the text from the back of each Butterick pattern. They say things like:

"The pattern is in 10 sizes for ladies from 28 to 46 inches. To make the garment for a lady of medium size will require 5 1/4 yards of material 27 inches wide."

I am still trying to figure out what a "lady of medium size" would be. I just love stuff like this, and what a great way to bring fun to your creations!

I hope you have enjoyed today's tip, and remember, to see all of my previous Tuesdays Tips, please see this link list here. Also, I will have 3 posts for you on Thursday so be sure to stop by. Lots of different and good things happening! Happy Tuesday!

ABC Scripture Challenge {Word #13}, Motive

Challenge Word #13: Motive

What motivates you? A sunny day? Gaining a new title? Money? Recognition? Or are you motivated out of love and obedience to God? Sometimes we may not feel like doing what God calls us to do. Sometimes we do not even feel like crawling out of bed; however, out of love and obedience to the Lord we need to obey His call. God has a good and perfect purpose for everything He calls us to do. That call might be to “cool down” before we discipline a child so that we discipline out of love instead of anger. Or maybe it’s a call to keep quiet when we really want to assert our opinion. Proverbs 10:19 says “Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues.”

Our work, our ministries, our daily lives should not be motivated by what we gain or receive from doing them but it should be rooted in our love, devotion, and accountability to God. Hebrews 4:13 says “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” Someday I want to be able to hear God say to me “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23) Do you look forward to hearing Him say that to you?

And because believers are filled with the Holy Spirit, our lives should also motivate others to not only want to know the Lord but to live for Him also. Acts 17:27-28aGod did this so that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from any one of us. For in Him we live and move and have our being.”

So, are you motivated to live fully for Him this week and the days and weeks ahead? Ask God to show you what change needs to be made in your heart so that your motives line up with His. 2 Thessalonians 3:5 says “May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.”

For my page this week, I used two scriptures:

Psalm 84:11For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless.”

Hebrews 4:13Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”

The scripture from Psalms was stamped using the ODBD set called Scripture Collection 6. I also used the new Crocheted Background but after I added so many layers, it's a bit hard to see behind the trim and papers. The papers are Basic Grey Hopscotch.

Papers: Basic Grey Hopscotch, Paper Trey Ink cs
Our Daily Bread Designs Stamps: Scripture Collection 6, Crocheted Background
Stamp Ink: Archival Ink sepia, Tim Holtz Distress embossing ink, Zing brown sugar ep
Embellishments: Memory Box Primo Labels die, trim from A Million Memories, Tim Holtz tiny attacher, flowers and leaves from Wild Orchid Crafts, sewing machine

As you share your pages, please be sure to use Keyword ABCSCRC11 when posting your creations in any online galleries. Also, please leave a link to your creation here using Inlinkz! To see all of our previous lessons, please visit this post here. I pray that you will be fully motivated to live for Him each day! Have a week ahead,
