Art {Journaling} Tags for the Art-Full Attaché Workshop

If you remember my post from last week about the cover I made in Roben-Marie's Art-Full Attaché Workshop, I mentioned that I made a couple of tags while creating the cover. I wanted to share those tags with you today. And if you missed the post about the cover and Roben-Marie's class, click here.

These tags were simple to create while doing the cover. I just had them sitting on my desk next to the cover and painted them at the same time. I ended up with two tags that I love, and they did not take anymore time. They were simple and fast. Here is how they turned out.

And here is how they look with the cover.

So, next time you are doing a bit of art journaling, have a couple of tags on hand to create at the same time! Enjoy, and have a great Sunday!

(Note: The tags I used are listed below. For a complete product list, see the post linked above.)

Need Tags?

Today I wanted to share with you some tags I use all of the time. I had never thought of sharing this before but after showing my mom, I thought that y'all might like to see them too.

About 1 1/2 years ago, I purchased a box of Avery Shipping Tags. They measure 2.75" x 1.375". When I purchased them, I didn't realize just how handy they would be. I use them for everything! If you have ever received a package from me, you have probably gotten one of these cute tags. I always stamp my name on it, write a little something, and attach it with washi tape. It's so easy and quick to use these tags plus they are cute. I even used them on Christmas gift bags using Tim Holtz Scribbly Christmas stamp set. They turned out cute also.

Now, these tags come in a box of 1,000 but as I said, I use them for everything including my layouts and creations. Maybe you live near someone that might like to split the box with you. The stamp shown above is from The Stampin Place. They have a lot of amazing stamps!

Hope you have found this helpful. Have a blessed and Merry Christmas!

Saturday's {Scripture} Tag #2

This week my girls had their second horseback riding lessons. They used to figure skate but we do not have a rink nearby in our new town. So, we are trying horseback riding. Before their first lesson, I was sharing with them about tacking up and putting the bit in the horses mouth, and they were surprised by the bit. I had taken lessons in England in the 1970's, and I have had fun explaining things and relearning myself with them again. Anyway, when looking in the Bible, we came across this scripture:

James 3:2-3 "We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check. When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal."

I did not remember that there was a scripture was in the Bible that talked about a bit in a horses mouth. So, that is my scripture tag for today. And I need to remember that a bit is small in a horses mouth yet it can steer such a large animal. The tongue in my mouth is small yet it can be used to build up or destroy. How do I make sure I keep my tongue in check?

Our Daily Bread Designs {Challenge 41}

Happy Saturday to you! Are your itching for another challenge? Do you have some crafting time on your hands today? Well, why not join in! Today's ODBD Challenge is an inspiration challenge. How fun! To see all of the inspiration pieces, please visit the ODBD blog here.

For my creation today, I used the colors in this inspiration piece:

Upon seeing the colors, I thought it really went well with some chocolate truffles I had just picked up at the store. So I thought they would make a great gift jar, and of course, a jar needs a tag. So, I created this tag using the ODBD set called We Three Kings (the image and star). I also used the sentiment from the new ODBD set called Ornaments. And can you see how I tore out a part of the hymn and put it at the bottom of the tag? It's the line that says "Westward leading, still proceeding, Guide us. . ." Now you can sing that hymn all day as you create. :)

Papers: Paper Trey Ink cs
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs We Three Kings, Our Daily Bread Designs Ornaments (sentiment)
Stamp Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink forest moss, walnut stain, and embossing ink; Ranger gold ep
Embellishments: Tim Holtz tiny attacher, part of hymn from hymnal, tulle from Hobby Lobby, Quickutz ticket die

New Stamp Company {Poppystamps}

Dave of Memory Box Co., has launched a new stamp company called Poppystamps. There are many cute images, including cats and dogs, that are all great for coloring. Here is a birthday tag I made for my aunt using the Poppystamps Catie Cupcake {220C} stamp: Papers: Memory Box Rhubarb Tart, Bazzill
Stamps: Poppystamps Catie Cupcake 220C
Stamp Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU chocolate chip
Copics: R000, R20, R29, R35, E37, E50, G40
Embellishments: misc. ribbon & lace, Stickles diamond, Nestabilities

I didn't completely color the image in because of the beautiful patterned papers. I guess you could say I did some "sporadic coloring." :) I also colored in the cupcake icing with Stickles for a little fun.

You can order directly from the Poppystamps site, and there are several stores that are already carrying them too! Also, you can find the Poppystamps blog here. Enjoy, and thanks for stopping by today! Blessings,

Scripture Challenge RAK {Let's See Those Pages}

Okay, everyone must have had a very busy summer because it has been so quiet! In our study for this week {Week 34}, we are talking about blessings. Have you thought about how your pages or cards may bless others as you share them? So, my challenge for you this week is for you to share those cards and pages!!! I want to see them! So, post a link to your work here in this comment thread so we can look, and you may win a RAK. If you don't have a gallery or blog to post them to, please consider using our amazing Scripture Challenge gallery at Create My Keepsake. You can find the gallery here. You get to see my cards each week but I haven't shared my ATC Holder with you in a while. Here is what is looks like now:
It is really filling up, and it looks so pretty on my desk!

And as a little incentive for you to share, I am giving away a little RAK. For everyone that shares a link here to any Scripture Challenge page or card you create this week, you will be entered into a drawing to win this amazing stamp from Unity Stamp Co. I used the stamp on this tag:
So, get creating, and post those links right here in the comments section by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, August 31st! I will post the winner next Monday. Happy studying, and remember, your creation may just bless someone else that sees it!

{2} Layouts & a Tag!

Wow, I can't believe how much scrappy time I have had lately. I am loving it!! I sure hope it doesn't let up because I am really enjoying my creative time so much! I wanted to share with you what I worked on this weekend. First, I created a layout for our Monday Muse challenge at Create My Keepsake. The challenge is to "go with the flow and accent water photos with wavy lines & elements." You can find the challenge here, and anyone can join in! We would LOVE to see your creation! And notice how I used the Unity stamp on the popsicle stick. :) I thought the popsicle stick was quite appropriate since my poor daughter was freezing.
Then I created a layout for a sketch challenge in the Unity forum. You can find the sketch challenge here, and we would love for you to join us there too if you would like! This is a layout about my daughter having to switch from playing bassoon to oboe. She has been so heartbroken, and this picture was taken the afternoon before we had to return her bassoon. Poor thing! Time will heal!
And lastly, I created a birthday tag. I love, love, love making tags! I think I like them more than cards. I always cover a jumbo playing card or a flash card to make the tag more sturdy. On the back, I always cover in cardstock so that I can write a little note to the recipient. Well, thanks for stopping by, and I hope you will join in our challenges! Have a joyous week!
